I can't seem to find anyone within my circle who enjoys bullet hell games as much as I do. They just don't get it... "There's too much going on!!" "Ahhh!! It hurts my eyes!!" "How can you play this s***?!" What are your thoughts on bullet hell? And which titles would you like to see ported over to the iDevices? I'd absolutely LOVE to see the Touhou games show up in the app store.
I think in directions when playing bullet hell. "Left, right, down, right, left, up" That sort of thing. Though any form of distraction and I get hosed!
I like danmaku. pretty new to this genre and I suck but its fun BUT: when playing touhou i definitely turn of the music, this will fragg your brain for sure. But I dont play longer than 15-20 minutes, so cannot tell, yet Are you playing in this video?
no headaches, but i suck like hell. even on rrootage! and even when i'm only watching the video, i find it hard to concentrate on the dodging, let alone trying to shoot the boos themselves! so i guess yeah, it's just too much to handle. i actually really like dual stick shooters though, and i can dodge much better with them. personal preference i guess.
Lol. I usually put all of my attention on the dodging part since it's the most difficult, and rely on my peripheral vision for keeping track of the enemies. You have to learn how to split your brain. Yeah. These games are definitely not for everyone. And thanks for the signature quote.
The thing about those YouTube "bullet hell" videos is that you never know whether the person is playing on a small screen like the ipad's, or on a 60 inch projection tv where one could drive a truck between the bullets. At least on iDevice there's the novelty of the multitouch interface, and the smaller format doesn't fry the brain as much. Plus, there aren't very many console type games that work with multitouch, so the particle dodge genre is a welcome one among the few that are viable. Ideally such a game would be built from the ground up for this platform.
Bullet Hell games provide a level of frustration that I don't want to deal with. It's a new, more sophisticated age of gaming anyway. Why would I ever want to go back to an arcaic genre of gaming that relies solely trial & error and memorization. Look, I've been a gamer since the beginning, but I want progress. I don't want to be stuck in the past. The notion of retro gaming is vastly overrated.
I've never played a bullet hell game and never will. They look too crazy for me. And too Japanese. I hate all Japanese games except for Pokemon which I don't mind because I used to like it as a kid. But anything like Final Fantasy, Chaos Rings, it makes me want to puke.
A guide to puberty, of course. For a second there I thought you were doing the Contra cheat code. Lol. Ikuraga is one of the best games ever made... LOL!! That's what I'm talkin' about!
I'm kind of new to the shooters and have started out with more tamer games in comparison. I played Warblade to death (with only an achieved Warblade Grandmaster 1 Gold Star....so far). I have a few others in play also and from this I've gained interest in bullet hell shooters. I'm waiting for my new device so I can try games like ESPGALUDA II (and others). It's not something I could have jumped right into without some sort of previous experience with other shooters and that said, I'm sure I will get my butt kicked.....and kicked some more. Can't wait to play.
I'd be willing to spend $8 (again) on another bullethell game for iOS. And for a game like eXceed 2nd Vampire Rex, I'd probably spend $12. On newer devices, bullethell is very possible.
