Ramps up quickly but it keeps a good balance of challenge and achievement. And the art is obviously great given your experience. I'm a completionist, so one thing that would help with engagement for me is if I knew how many worlds there were and had more of a sense of my progress beyond just knowing I'm on level 2-2.
