I liked the earlier Quell games, but this one is a cut above. Fantastic!

Wow. Talk about equal doses of guilt and joy...

I enjoyed the first Quell, and saw the release of this one, but never got around to picking it up. It showed up in my Starbucks App, and I thought, "Cool, it should be nice..." It's not "nice," it's EXQUISITE.

To list the myriad ways this game improves on the first would frankly exhaust TA's character limit, but I'll say this, the creativity, depth, artistic value, fun, and ingenuity of this installment are all simply off the scale.

The story, gameplay, movement, UI, achievements, visuals, BGM... it's just ridiculous. The first was certainly good, but this installment has to be played to be appreciated.

Wow. I don't know what happened to the developers between the first and this one, but as an artist perpetually searching for inspiration and hoping to continue to produce worthwhile art, I hope it happens to me!

tl;dr: If you enjoy puzzles and are searching for a fully satisfying experience, you NEED to check this out.

I could never give up.

I agree with this, too!

Though I will say the Quell series is one of those seemingly immortal properties where you can play the previous games after playing the new one, and they will still be just as fun as you remember them to be. The improvements to the formula don't sour my enjoyment of the previous games.

I guess that could be said for a lot of series... but other series, no... Rock Band? Playing the first game after playing the third? No. Don't do it. Tony Hawk's Pro Skater series? For the most part it's the same as Quell, except the first game's lack of manuals... that makes it unplayable for me.

I'm trying to think of some other series... hm...

Anyways, Quell is among those elite series that don't sour the experience of previous games by making improvements to the later ones. It must be the type of game it is, where the improvements are not so vast that they change the game completely. And that's not a bad thing
