I tried this out earlier. It's chock full of IAP for consumable currency. There's a doubler, but it's $5. This doesn't seem like a $5 game to me, unless there are more arena, characters, etc. etc. The brawling isn't bad, decent movement control, and 2 attacks which can be combined for special moves and combos, but they seem difficult to pull off.

Nuclear Justice 2084 (by Berzerk Studio)

Looks like another Berzerk Studio release we never heard of. Came out this July so it's still pretty new.

Played it a bit, and, as expected of Berzerk Studio, this game is fantastic.

Dynamic vstick controls, 2 attack buttons that can sequence into combos, and a dash button that can be followed up with attacks.

It's a defense/beat em up hybrid where you are tasked to prevent jail escapees from breaching the gate. As far as controls go, this is as good as Maximus but has a dynamic vstick instead of relative touch, and it's well implemented.

To help you defend, you build up some defensive upgrades to the walls and other gimmicks to help you stop the escapees from reaching the gate. Killing enemies make them drop gold, and each completed wave gives generous amounts of gold too. Other than environmental upgrades, you can also upgrade your character. Each upgrade changes a part of his looks which is a nice touch. When you lose all HP when fighting, you respawn after a fixed amount of time, so you can continue defending.

There is IAP for the impatient and a doubler for $5, but my concern with IAP is that it might break the game and get you too overpowered and make the game feel boring.

Check it out, it's free, and it's an easy recommendation from me.

Cheers!
