Finally, Tankz v1.5 has been handed over to my publisher for submission. It's turned into an absolutely HUGE update with more than 5x the levels, two new enemies, a new player tank, some new and improved art, level unlocking, mini-maps, best score and time tracking, more comprehensive high scores breakdown, global ranks system, some VO, some feature requests, new game options, Twitter support and some bug fixes. I am sure anyone that already owns Tankz is going to totally enjoy this comprehensive update... and for those of you that were sitting on the fence... time to jump off. Tankz v1.5 will be going up to $1.99.
My first guess would be "Voice Over" and or just the concept of having some person's voice saying "Good Job!" as opposed to just showing the text to that effect but no clue how that would play in this game.
v1.5 is out now and it looks impressive. But, the game itself. Are these set courses and pre-scripted enemy placements or is any of this randomized for the arenas?
That update took one hell of a long time to get approved. I'd been on the fence about this one, but with such an impressive update, I gotta buy it.
Tower placement is not randomised, but enemy tank type per area and patroling paths are randomised. The idea is to learn the levels and have teh ability improve on your best time and score. Yes, approval took a while as I got a rejection due to an obscure bug in teh ranks that *could* get stuck accessing the internet, and had to fix and resubmit.. usual deal with Apple, but all good. BTW... price is going up to US$1.99.. (should have already gone up so jump in quick!
I've beta tested this game and it was before the update much fun, but after the update it has improved very much. I think it's too cheap at €1,59/&1,99. Everyone that hasn't bought it must buy it.
Thanks Frog... I really took my time on this update to make sure it was packed with a stack of new and fun content. I really hope that those that bought Tankz at version 1.0 are really happy with the 1.5 update and notice that I not only added cool new stuff, but listened to many of your suggestions and added features based on your feedback.
I think everyone is happy with the new update, because the game is improved and expanded without ruining the gameplay. At least I'm very happy. I hope I may also betatest your next game. Frog
