Mods, delete this thread if we are not allowed to post codes here. Can I share codes here if I have few?
No you can't share codes on the forums. I think it's also against the rules to request codes. Either way I think there is a forum that maybe it's appropriate on... just not here in the deals forum.
Far as I know it's perfectly legal to say in a forum you have codes and let people pm you or form a group, Begging and posting the actual codes in the forum (not being a dev that is) I think are forbidden/highly frowned upon.
Thanks both. I didn't know it was against the rules. Anyway, is there an actual forum where you can share codes? I am part of this group http://forums.toucharcade.com/group.php?groupid=80 But, it's an exchange group.
Maybe a new discussion section should be added to that group, wediaform. Seems like the best place to me if it is legal.
The problem with threads like this is that it fills up with people begging for codes and trading codes that they get for free. The last thread like this was heavily moderated and it's just too much of a hassle, with the end being inevitably the same.
yeah its a hard one.. plus depends what area you live in; USA, UK, CAN etc. better off going somewhere else as there are other forums where users offer list of codes they have and ask users to pm if they need one. gotten all the stuff i wanted from The Simpsons TreeHouse of Horror, Hidden Expedition: Amazon, Sway (Book), and Rayman Jungle Run...
I see so, even if I ask senior users to PM for codes isn't a good idea then right? I think it's the lurkers who do the begging I guess
Not to mention that though the codes are meant as a reward for Starbucks customers, there will be the inevitable person who'll grab hundreds of codes, or the entire box, which not only violates the program's restrictions ("Limit one card per person, per day" in participating stores), and hurts fellow customers who can no longer get a card for themselves, but also puts the program in jeopardy at that location. Many stores that get ripped off like this are instructed to stop putting out code cards altogether, and corporate is looking into other ways of doing this program, like putting codes on receipts instead. Then there are those who try to trade codes that aren't from Starbucks, and those who recommend more questionable ways of obtaining "free" codes, etc.
of course it's a shame that there are lurkers out there who steal codes for free, that's why it should only be given out voluntarily via private message i dont see what's wrong with people wanting to trade codes of other games, say if you're a regular starbucks customer and you've gotten more than 1 of the codes and you dont have any use for them, wouldn't it be great to exchange them for apps or media which you do not have? for me it's a win-win situation and the prerogative of the owner who chooses to do so of his own volition and free will, no forcing whatsoever i myself am looking for people who have leftover Sonic 4 Episode 1 codes from long ago...hopefully the codes have not expired yet
Well said! Even though Starbucks codes are meant for customers who paid for their coffees/pastries, there will always be few people who are going to abuse the system. Because of few dishonest people, you can't punish everybody. There are so many people who don't have the luxury of Starbucks in a convenient lactation. Some stores are 2-3 hours drive away. Anyway, mods could device a plan where if someone has a code and would like to share them, they just list them here. Or it could only senior members who would get codes
I don't abuse it. My Starbucks always recieves what seems like enough promo codes for every Apple device in the Northern Hemisphere. They never run out. Oh, and I am a customer. But...this weeks code is for a tv episode, so I'm not sure why this thread reappeared now.
Funny, I got Fibble HD ( game ), Madeline ( TV episode ), and Bruno Mars song Also, please reread my post thoroughly because I was talking about locations not stores not caring enough codes
I have a question. Someone told me that I could get codes from the starbucks web page if I was at a starbucks on their att wifi. I went to starbucks today try, looked all over the web page, and can"t find anything like that except for the starbucks app. Cause starting from about 6 months ago, the starbucks in my area stopped putting codes by the sugar area. Do you have to be a registered member to get the codes? Or am I missing something? Thanks.
OK, what kind of Starbucks do you have that has lactation ? Is that a new kind of way to put cream in their coffee ? (Sorry, just couldn't resist the laugh at what auto-correct comes up with sometimes !)
starbucks.yahoo.com while you are in the store, has links to digital song downloads only. You do not have to be a member, you simply have to be sitting in their store, using their wi-fi and accessing their digital download content webpage. The Starbucks app, on the other hand, sends you the link for the song digital download automatically every week, as long as you enable messages and sign up for an account. The best thing about the app is that as of a couple months ago, you do NOT need to be in a Starbucks store in order to get the song download. As long as you have the app installed, and open the message on an iOS device, you can redeem digital song downloads from anywhere. For anything else they offer (apps, ebooks, TV shows, etc.), they currently only offer them via physical cards. They are trying different things to cut down on abuses (where people go in and rip off tons of codes). These offerings are supposed to be getting Starbucks customers and advertising, after all, not be something you use to impress your friends and artificially inflate your status. So go get the app and you'll have weekly access to all the songs, but please don't post the links to them here. Let folks go get their own copy of the app and provide Starbucks with the exposure and business it needs to keep offering us these nice goodies.
