    Help!

A botfly landed on my arm 10 minutes ago and I washed my arm real fast with soap and water!

    Am I okay?

It's still somewhere in my room and now I can't sleep!

    You're fine.

I hate to ruin the humor of this post, but for future reference, unless the fly lands on you and deposits its larvae under your skin (they're known to do that occasionally) you have absolutely nothing to worry about. Just leave your door open tonight and it will go on its own merry way.

Oh, and instead of creating a thread, a simple google search would be both preferable and quicker.

    Seriously though, am I ok?

These things lay eggs on the skin and they go into the skin and grow into horrible parasites, no joke.

Do you think I got the eggs off my skin? I really don't want parasites like those in me.

The thing is still somewhere near my bed area

Yeah I tried google, but the closest thing I found was someone who had it land on them 3 months ago...

Sorry for the thread, I just don't want these things in me.

Still haven't gone back in my room.

Dude, chill. You will accomplish nothing by being paranoid. Now, if you wake up in the morning with your arm swollen with little parasites crawling under your skin, then freak out.

That was cruel. I'm sorry. You're fine, I'm sure.

It was on my arm a good minute. I thought it was an itch, so I ignored it, the looked and it was a bot fly.

It's cool lol. Humor is always good. I just never had it land on me before and I saw youtube videos of those things and have heard horror stories.

    But I probabally am overreacting.

I used to be SUPER paranoid about things like this when I was a kid. 100% of the time I worried about nothing.

I think if you quickly washed it with loads of soap and boiling hot water it should have killed anything that may hatch, so you're probably fine. Heard some horrible stories about this though, if you are really worried, just go to a doctor

I just washed it off with water and soap. It wasn't boiling hot water. I think it was hot water, but no too hot. I can't remember...
