What does upgrading "specialty" do in Spiderman?

I couldn't tell you mate, maybe it makes your web attack faster and more powerful? Or perhaps it enhances Spidey Sense.

 

I believe that it allows you to do more damage when using spidey's super attack (when the web bar is all the way full).
