I'd probably say machines at war 3
Machines at War 3 RTS by Isotope 244
    https://appsto.re/gb/sE9HM.i
It's the best one I've played for being like a real pc rts. Don't know how much it cost because mine just had the little cloud sign when I go to the App Store but it wasn't much.

$9.99 on the Au appstore which for reasons that perplex me even to this day, translates to about 30 cents everywhere else.

Ps, I don't do rts these days (used to love it as a teenager), but if you're after some suggestions then I read that z steel soldiers is good. Also starfront collision but for some reason that's gone from the appstore. Was the closest thing to Starcraft on iOS.

XCOM, FFT and Hearthstone are my personal TBS picks. Warhammer Quest was one of my favorite games for the longest time, til i just lost interest in it after a couple years. Ascension and Summoner Wars were huge favorites of mine until Hearthstone happened. :p

For realtime strategy titles, Dungeon Village, Castle Doombad, Crystal Siege, Battleheart and Heroes & Castles 2.

I'm a big fan of the entire Great Little/Big War Game series.

I still keep Starfront Collision on all my devices (despite the sort of large filesize). I'm surprised it wasn't more popular or that more StarCraft clones never seemed to show up on the app store...

I LOVE Starfront Collision.I have it on my iPad but not on my iPhone and unfortunately it's been taken off the app store so from here till eternity I'm stuck having to use my iPad to play it. But, at least I have that.

If you go into appstore app on your iPhone (having signed in on the same iTunes account as your iPad), press on updates then press on the purchased arrow, then press on "not on this phone", you can do a search for stafront collision. If it appears there then you may download it. I can see it available for download on my phone by doing this. (whether or not it actually does is another thing but worth a try).

Hey if you guys like TBS I think you'll like my just released game, ReconInForce. As someone already mentioned, it's free.

I'm always open to feedback on it too!

Oh... i forgot about Oil Rush. It's a decent realtime strategy title that boasts some really good visuals.

I only bought the HD version which is only for the iPad. It's not universal, unfortunately.

Two words.... Red Conquest. Recently updated, it's an oldie but incredible to play. A shame these guys are no longer around. All their games are amazing.
