I should note that the (by Analgesic Productions) bit may be inaccurate but I went with what I found on the website.
HELL YEAH!!I knew there was a reason I'm reluctant to get this on steam.. Edit:Guys this is a very highly rated and popular PC game.. Huzzah for iOS gaming!!!
Here's a link to the Steam portal of Anodyne for reference; it's regularly $9.99 there so seems like a good deal at $3.99 for iOS: http://store.steampowered.com/app/234900/
Abstract themed landscapes? Dungeons in the human Young's subconscious? Yes! This might be the closest thing to iOS Earthbound yet. Is that a homage to the work of psychoanalysit Carl Jung (Jung renamed as Young) who worked with the subconscious or am I overthinking things? Maybe we'll see some deliberate embedded Freudian imagery and symbology secondary to the gameplay. It seems like there's a lot of surreal almost psychadelic depth to Anodyne.
Yup the pricing on this platform is very sweet..Though I hope they get enough attention and sales because this is quite a week of releases, which pretty much rivals the KOTOR week..
I read a bunch of reviews of the PC version and I would describe them more as mixed, rather then well received. I look forward to seeing impressions here after the initial release enthusiasm has passed.
I noticed that too; meta-critic gives Anodyne a 75/100 which doesn't seem stellar. However, I'm still in line... the content and price seems right by iOS standards.
Well Yeah that's what I read too but some of my friends were totally in love with it so I have to check it out at least
At first glance seems clunky, loosy goosey controls, retro for the sake of retro, shallow one attack combat. I could be wrong, but the cool music didnt sway me from my impressions of the video.
Developer's website still shows it coming out tonight. This is the one I'm most excited about. According to Sean's blog it's tomorrow at $2.99.... the main website says $3.99 though. No IAP but no GameCenter.
