Hi, i was just checking some good old games and found my beloved DK. I was thinking, maybe we can vote all together to encourage someone to create an iPad port of this game. With some work it is definitely possible to create a nice touch control system. Don't know about the legal rights but maybe there is a way too. Hope this will be possible
Ryan Michell, Bansheesoft, who developed Mission Europa is working on a Dungeon Keeper style iOS game. You can check out the developer blog here. That might be the closest we get. Edit: Someone should soften the thread title, it's misleading.
I think there are a lot of old school pc games that could have a lot of potential on the i devices. What about: - theme hospital, i mean if you see the succes of kairosofts hot springs story. - Full throttle (i know its available if you jailbreak your phone, but i dont want to jailbreak my iphone). - Little big adventure 2, an old school adventure game wich could work as sort of a twinstick shooter on i device. It has a great story. - Pitfall: the mayan adventure, an old school sidescrolling adventure. - Nocturne, a horror adventure game
Really good topic, I for one would also like to see more old pc games ported to iOS, Dungeon Keeper would be very nice, maybe even one of the older warcraft versions?
Tryed it with idos.. Dungeon keeper 1 starts but is unplayable 2 wont start. And controls are not really a joy in idos too..
Yeah, it is probably not the same thing, what we need is upgraded versions to work with the iPhone controls, not trying to emulate a mouse/keyboard
Bumped into this thread.. I sure am making a Dungeon Keeper type game. Here is a video I am about 30% complete with it. Nothing is done but here is kind of where I stand. You can keep up on my blog at the link below... It will require a 3GS+ to run as it is all OpenGL 2.0 and shader based. Back to work!...
