We're working on a stick shooter for iOS! Indeed, yes, another one. There's an intended focus on adventure & exploration rather than small arena battles, set in a remote region of space where two lowly interstellar janitors are the only hope to evacuate the survivors of a frenzied robot rebellion. Also, one of the protagonists may or may not be partially descended from lobsterkind (TBA). Game details: Universal build for iPhone 3GS and up, all iPads, equivalent iPods Game Center planned iCloud planned Early iPad gameplay footage: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ia8YkbrnUJw What we're looking for at the moment is a few kind people who are well versed in stick shooters on iOS, who might be interested in providing some early feedback on what would make the game as enjoyable for core genre fans as it can possibly be. If you're interested, I'd love to hear from you.
new gameplay video: http://vimeo.com/43584215 We now also have an online level editor for creating and saving levels that are immediately playable on a device, which is a great tool for trial and error with balancing enemy arrangements and the like. I'm not sure what happened with the original post - it had some sort of approval delay and I missed it hitting the board. If anyone's interested, we're still looking for any stick shooter vets who'd be keen to contribute any thoughts on the gameplay.
Hello Multiplang, I see you are looking for people who have had experience playing stickman-shooter type games? Maybe I could help test it with you guys, the stick-shooter apps are personally my favorite.
Hi Multiplang. This looks like a great game you are developing! I have experienced lots of stick-shooter games, and i will help you the best I can
Hey! I think I am a worthy candidate for testing your game, as I can give great feedback, and I am a shooter type of person. Let me know if you would like me to join the testing.
Thanks for the interest guys! I'll be sending PMs soon. A little more info on the game: - universal for 3GS and up, iPad 1, 2, 3. - We'll be aiming for 30-40 levels, many of them large and open - 8 weapons that are unlocked/upgradable throughout the game - a good number of enemy types ramping up to some tough skirmishes in later levels Other titles the Doombots team has worked on: Diggin' Dogs Qink Thumbzilla I'll keep the updates coming whenever possible.
I would be glad to test your game for you. From what you have said is planned for the game it sounds like it will be fun once it's completed.
Hey guys, sorry fo the delay in getting this rolling! We've been hard at work on this game and I'll be contacting people shortly about testing or any other kind of potential involvement. We have a new trailer: details to come very soon.
I am just noticing this and interested in beta testing if opportunity still exists. I have beta experience on multiple projects. Thanks in advance for any consideration.
Nice This looks like good fun! Dev question for you - how are you managing the weapon upgrade system? Just after an overview rather than specifics!
Two possible options at the moment, but both based around persistant upgrades as you progress through levels. We're looking into a loot based system where weapons are built and upgraded using lots of different parts found (maybe randomly) throughout the game. The other way is just to have a weapon shop with unlocks and upgrades bought with crystals collected throughout levels. temporary super powerups are also kind of a common genre staple so there might be some way to mix that in too.
