Edit: Hi, just wanted to update this thread: Besides all my crytirias below please share your favorite hero collecting game and explain why you like it Maybe I got a little to specific, but by all means, go ahead and read the full post, to know, what I was looking for, thank you! ____ Hey guys, I am looking for a hero collecting game with the following requirements: - fair f2p (no heroes locked out by real money, no absolutely insane grinding, no paywall) - lots of heroes to collect obviously - can be played reasonable well solo, so no one forces me in a guild - optional: daily gems via iap I played heroes charge for a a few months and what bothered me, was that after a bit of time you basically never play the game except for raiding, but only spend tickets and basically click through all those instances to level up gear and heroes... For weeks and months. I don't like that. What I do not really mind thou is auto play with occasional skill usage. Something like war tortoise, nonstop knight (even if those are no hero collecting games) really clicked with me and I wondered if there was a hero collecting game out there with a similar mechanic. I do not like games though, that play themselves 100% of the time, like one hero collecting game with lots of small dudes (sorry ). I wanted to try out Star Wars galaxy of heroes, but with the recent updates some people are reporting valid concerns on the forms and quitting the game so that is not really on my radar anymore. Thanks for reading all of that and don't shy away from just recommending your favorite hero collecting game regardless if it fits my requirements or not. Cheers!
@future fight: I just looked at the last forum page starting with this post: http://forums.toucharcade.com/showpost.php?p=3815830&postcount=3201 And it seems to have the same reception as Star Wars: patches "broke" the game in one way or another. True? False? Alternatives? Thanks for the recommendation though, and a character behind paywall sounds not so good, do they go free after some time? Would be ok then.
But it is only one character iap-only. Can't say about Thano's team though. Edit: I don't recommend One Piece Treasure Cruise. They rely on whales because of their unfair gatcha.
Could you elaborate on your criticism of one oiece and which other games of the collecting genre you would recommend and why or even why you would recommend not to touch certain titles? Would be much appreciated to get a decent list of games I will try out
I wouldn't call it unfair. It is a gatcha mechanic, sure. But all content so far is beatable with ordinary non gatcha drops and you get premium currency every day. If you have to have a certain character then good luck as it's all rng. But legends and rare recruits as powerful as they are are not needed. There are even people who beat levels without ever using a gatcha pull. If you like One Piece give it a try ( the app covers all story arcs) and check the blog or the Facebook group for guides.
Maybe another one of you guys with more experience can chime in here: Basically every forum I read and most review really hate on games for their game updates. While I trust this forum more than any other in regards to iOS games I do not really know what to think of it and I think you have to invest sooo much time into those type of collecting games, that you cannot really check a game out and see how it is in the later, more grindy stages... So what's/where is a good way to get more impressions on those games? Star Wars Galaxy is pretty much broken according to Toucharcade, Future fight has serious complains as well, and other games I've read about on reddit e.g. league of angels got heavy critizised for patches. I simoulatniously got a recommendation and someone that told me to not touch another game because of Patch X... How do you go about these games to see which on you'd like and keep on playing? Do you try all of them out? Which review do you hold highly? I just have not a lot of time to keep investing into most of those at the moment to see how the f2p affects them and to see if I like them after months of playing. Obviously there are tons of clones and reskins out there too. Pretty hard to find one to like All recommendations still highly appreciated!
I know this is kinda an old post but.. Just felt like saying that two of my favourite hero collecting games are Seven Knights and Tales of Link
Idle heroes Idle heroes is a game I'm currently playing and haven't got bored with. There are plenty of heroes to collect and all are available without having to purchase anything. Also guilds are not necessary but do have some useful perks.
Those kinds of games always sucked, are pay2win and are always completely automated with no real skills involved, always have stamina, are glorified casino(not the old red and blue kind or HGSS one).So a good game of this kind do not exist.
