At the 360iDev Conference in October, someone had a brilliant idea: why don't we all get together on the last night of the conference and each write a brand new game? Even though Keith and I were giving the keynote at 9am the next morning, we couldn't resist. And so after a long night of magic (sleep deprivation), Hippo High Dive was born. You first heard about it on the very special, and very first, TouchArcade Podcast. Weeks later, Hippo High Dive is almost ready to swan-dive into the App Store. Hippo is a death-defying high-diving trapeze artist extraordinaire. Help him leap off taller and taller dives, navigate through flaming rings, and land in the ridiculously tiny pool below. Features: - Infinite Number of Levels - No DLC, no energy to buy - seriously, just play forever. - Super-special, super-limited introductory price of 99 cents - You will NOT get burnt. Except by the rings of fire. - 1 high-diving hippo Coming very soon...
That hippo better not touch one of those rings or he'll get burnt worse than someone buying a game for more than 99¢!
Wow... Seriously. Doodle graphics may seem a bit old, but you guys managed to put a great color to all the artwork. It's like doodle in a whole new light In fact, I don't think I should call it a doodle lol. Awesome job Natalia and Keith! Can't wait for a video PS: Should we expect an awesome original musical score for this too?
Thanks Prab! So nice of you to say that. Even though it was just me and Keith physically at the game jam, our awesome artist Kiril actually stayed up all night with us from the east coast and turned doodles into art. He definitely took it beyond doodles and gave the game its own gorgeous style. And yes, original soundtrack included. Tuba is featured heavily... Thanks! Very close now... We're in beta testing, so doing some last gameplay tweaks and bug fixes. Hopefully we'll submit in about a week?
We're really not good at this whole "make a really quick game" thing. Based on the great feedback from our beta testers, we've been tweaking, refining and polishing furiously. But we're leaving for a trip in a week, so we'll be submitting Hippo High Dive by November 20. Hurray for hard deadlines!
Why do tubas and hippos seem to go so well together? Can't wait guys! Hope it's as great as Harbor Master!
Tubas make good circus music. Also, there's Stewie: Man, if high diving hippos don't pique your interest, you must be crazy! Oh wait...
