Did that come with this update? Eoghann Well-Known Member May 29, 2012 1,367 0 0 IT Guy/Graphic Designer/Gamer New York #7 Eoghann, Dec 5, 2013 Yup. And it's not the pretty kind. Wait until you reach the shark levels. Full screen ads, no way to exit them unless you pay. Or wait for the countdown to reach zero. That's some serious bull for someone who paid full price for this. I think I still have the previous update in my iTunes. Looks like back to square one for me. Creat Studios and i-Free were also involved in the development of Mushroom Wars. Anyone remember how they screwed over their users? Luckily, I think I got Magic Orbz on sale for a buck. Too bad there's nothing we can do except spread the word about devs like this. They are the scum of the App Store. Apple should really do something about this but they still get their 30% regardless. I just hope the one I have in iTunes isn't already infected. jeffyg3 Well-Known Member Mar 22, 2010 1,251 0 36 #11 jeffyg3, Dec 5, 2013 I remember Mushroom Wars. Paid for it full price at launch, then they pulled that crap. Deleted it off my iTunes and everything. Yeah, have no plans on supporting these developers ever again Kubaton Well-Known Member Oct 15, 2012 221 1 18 Louisiana, USA #12 Kubaton, Dec 5, 2013 Last edited: Dec 5, 2013 Just for the record, it was scum of the App Store. At the rate they're going, they'll reach scum of the earth in no time. I doubt I have my archived copy. One of my external hard drives failed recently and I'm sure it was the one I need. Luckily they pulled that Mushroom Wars crap just before I was going to purchase it. SCZ77 Well-Known Member Nov 2, 2011 77 0 0 C.R. #13 SCZ77, Dec 5, 2013 Last edited: Dec 5, 2013 What a day! Bejeweled and now this, another developer to the crappy blacklist... And the update only says ''minor improvements and bug fixes'' Eoghann Well-Known Member May 29, 2012 1,367 0 0 IT Guy/Graphic Designer/Gamer New York #14 Eoghann, Dec 5, 2013 Yeah that was sneaky as hell. I can understand a dev wanting to make a few extra bucks with the ads. To some extent I didn't mind the small banner at the top even though I paid full price on launch day. But what's upsetting is the full screen one. It's actually two full screen ads that pop up. One you can X out and the second one underneath that you have to wait for the 10 second countdown. I wouldn't even be complaining if it were one every few minutes like Pik Pok, but these ads are right after every single level. Kubaton Well-Known Member Oct 15, 2012 221 1 18 Louisiana, USA #15 Kubaton, Dec 5, 2013 I don't even know if complaining to Apple would help but we all need to email them and they need to put an end to this nonsense. If we buy a game, we buy a game. Devs shouldn't be allowed to pull this crap. It's extortion as far as I'm concerned. That's like an IT tech fixing someone's computer and one day they decide to install a virus but you can pay them to remove it if you want. Then i'll be able to block ads, simple. mrbiggles Well-Known Member Jul 3, 2012 3,691 0 0 Like retired USA #17 mrbiggles, Dec 6, 2013 wow that sucks... glad to have a previous backup, sucks you now can't update your game unless u pay again. Fortunately the previous one was still in the Recycle Bin. Lost all my progress but I don't have to worry about the stupid ads now. Coldar Well-Known Member Dec 26, 2008 2,458 5 38 Upstate NY/USA #19 Coldar, Dec 6, 2013 I've really enjoyed the game but now I wouldn't recommend it for play. I'm so glad to not update just because its put out. A thread made a awhile back had a few people posting on how they don't care if they lose games due to updating. I don't update too often for this exact reason and because of this practice I still have a non-crippled ad free game(s) it was once known for.
