Drawing influence from games like Borderlands, Diablo and Torchlight series, we’re aiming to bring that exciting mix of action, looting, and RPG story elements to a top down Sci-Fi shooter. The game will feature atleast 3 classes, hundreds of different weapons/items, and diverse skill tress, all of which we will be releasing more info on soon. We’ve been slaving away for the past few months creating a proof-of-concept demo which will be released very soon, but for now here are a few concept pieces, screenshots and the first gameplay video from one of the demo environments. Sweet. What kind of enemigos are we facing? Robots? Reptilians? Classical aliens? I like the idea tough. Any idea for classes?
Enemies will range from humans, robots, aliens, hostile creatures and more. However humans will be your primary enemy throughout the story.
Quick update. Here are couple of the armor variations you can equip. The game will feature a somewhat comprehensive inventory and equipping system, so you can mix and match different pieces of these armors together depending on how you want to build your loadout. im hoping this is somewhat similar to the old infantry online game.. the rpg and gameplay in that was pretty awesome.. and this looks quite similar.
This looks potentially interesting. Any game that can post a nearly 5 minute clip of play must be fairly far along, will we see a release before Christmas? Will level design be pre-determined stages or unique, procedurally generated, each time? Three classes? All I see is a bunch of shooting (aka 1 "class"); what makes one class different from the other? The art design looks odd in that the character/enemy graphics seem to slightly clash with the background and both being unlike the still cinematic shots.
This game really is at the "pre-alpha" stage right now. What your seeing right now is a playable demo that anyone will be able to try for an upcoming kickstarter campaign for this game. I've actually run out of money and almost certainly won't be able to finish the game without successful fund raising. So no the game won't be ready by Christmas this year even if the campaign is successful. However in about 2 weeks or so you'll be able to play a full mission from the game (on desktop, android or ouya). The level design will not be randomly generated in the final game, however many aspects of missions could be randomized such as enemy types, placement and objective locations. The plan is for 3 classes, right now your seeing just one class which I haven't finished the skills for. Hopefully for the demo he will have a couple of cool skills to try. Each class will vary in speed, size, skill trees, and weapons that they can use, although I'm not ready to announce the classes yet.
