NOVA obviously isn't as good as Halo, but you can play it on your phone and it feels like Halo so people love it. Not that I can complain, because I'm one of those people, but 9mm doesn't look particularly interesting to me anyway. fulcizombie Well-Known Member Dec 17, 2011 393 0 16 #4 fulcizombie, Dec 23, 2011 Honestly for 0.99$ (its current IOS price) it's more than good enough . What will you compare this game to Gears of war 3 or Uncharted 3 ? violentv Well-Known Member Nov 4, 2010 912 0 16 #5 violentv, Dec 24, 2011 I wouldn't buy a bad coffee or a bad book on sale for $0.99.... why would I want to buy a mediocre iOS/mac game and waste my time? >.> (I bought it some time ago though and utterly regretted it.) Madman100 Well-Known Member Jul 6, 2011 1,201 0 0 #6 Madman100, Dec 24, 2011 I recently reinstalled this and it's quite clear it's one of Gameloft's highest quality games. I cannot understand the hate around this one at all except the story is kinda short and the cussing almost seems childish. With so many people thinking they're professional critics it's no wonder GL is looking toward the freemium crowd.. violentv Well-Known Member Nov 4, 2010 912 0 16 #7 violentv, Dec 24, 2011 Last edited: Dec 24, 2011 All these 'çritics' are customers who have every right to voice their dissatisfaction. I was never a big fan of gameloft games although I appreciate the amount of polish and effort that went into each, I absolutely loathed the uninspired gameplay, plot, level designs and tedious illogical puzzles in their games. It might just be me..but I react VERY badly to games with these elements. I still download a few gameloft games every year to prove myself wrong.(hasn't happened though) As for the freemium model... I must admit I initially thought it was a good change in direction for gameloft;they can finally abandon all pretense of being able to write cohesive and non juvenile scripts/plots and concentrate on improving game mechanics etc. I tried Six Guns and DH3 and...well.. it didn't work out that way. lol. The bottom line is... 9mm is an ok(above average maybe?) game on iOS devices but a terribly horrible mac game. I can only imagine how much of a borefest this game will be with the much easier looking controls of a keyboard and mouse. I think "professional (lol)" critics had the big hype around this game go to their heads and like someone said it's the only thing like it on the iPhone. Gameloft went to freemium cause they saw other developers do so well with their freemium apps, but it's evident they have no clue how to do freemium or IAPs correctly. They also ruined one of my favorite Gameloft games, The Oregon Trail, recently with some of the most atrocious IAPs around. The game used to be so fun, but now you SERIOUSLY can't get anywhere unless you fork up a lot of cash - the game really is completely ruined - I can't believe I paid for this game and got updated to a horrible game. Then they went ahead and made 4 premium paid games freemium and put ads & later only removed ads to one of them. What other games or series will Gameloft ruin? There's no reason to keep defending them - like another poster said in another topic, Gameloft is heading towards disaster, they're becoming a shell of a company that used to make good games. Psykikgmr Well-Known Member Apr 10, 2010 327 0 0 #10 Psykikgmr, Dec 24, 2011 If you look at 9mm for the game it is and not something unique cuz there's nothing like it on iPhone, then still the game is really mediocre. Kinda funny you keep telling people to chill out, or calming the rage since you kept calling people stupid in another topic for not agreeing with you. It really does seem it's you who needs to chill out, the other poster didn't do anything where he should be told that. Can someone else confirm that they ruined The Oregon Trail? I know they released a free+ version recently but ur speaking as someone who hasn't even bought the game and is just looking to complain.... I could be wrong though. Oh wait.. Psykikgmr, you're one of the people I called stupid for saying mindless BS just to complain. Figures. Sorry about that. Yeah, you definitely need to chill out Madman. Take a coffee break, if you haven't noticed Toucharcade forums is normally well mannered and calm, that's why I like coming here. They obviously don't find it senseless...nor did a whole lot of people who voiced their issues by emailing, writing on facebook, blogs, forums, & twitter to Gameloft. Calling TA members stupid because they think they have legitimate issues that you obvioulsy don't agree with doesn't make you look good one bit. You are the one who needs to calm down. And they're right about Oregon Trails. The free version doesn't have any form IAP implementations. And there's the free "Oregon Trail: American Settler" which is an entirely different game.
