I am just curious and I am not sure if anyone will know the answer to this but is there any data on the size of worldwide markets for the app store? Obviously the US is biggest and I am guessing UK, Japan, Germany and maybe China are some of the next largest? Is there any data on how large these markets are in relation to the US market based on sales data?

Ground Effect (by currency rather than country) looks like this:

    US 44%
Europe 21% (I'm guessing around 8% France, 8% Germany with no other country adding up to more than 1%)
    UK 20%
    Australia 5%
    Japan 4%
Worldwide 3% (China is in here I guess and not that significant)
    Canada 3%

I think these figures are skewed slightly as I've heard more usual figures of 60% US.

This is probably because Ground Effect had it's most important 'Feature' around Thanksgiving and wasn't featured on The US store because of all the themed apps at that time.

Im not so sure that 60% US is "normal." Heck, I'd wager its going to be pretty different for each app. Our breakdown by total revenue is

    US: 44%
    Japan: 27%
    UK: 10%
    Europe: 7%
    Other: 12%
