Achilles Last Stand - Jimmy Page (Led Zepplin) That's probably my favorite solo off an album, there are some live performance solos from a few bands that I really enjoyed, but I won't list those.
I second that. My jaw dropped the first time I heard that. Hard to believe that was the dude's warmup... Crap, that was insane. They may not be the best solos technically, but mine are the one at the end of White Walls by Between the Buried and Me and the several found in Disease, Injury, Madness.
What the hell? I didn't even know I Posted this.... I hit "back" before I even finished writing the poll and post...
Metropolis pt.1 -John Petrucci of Dream Theater his scaling and progression plus use of the melodic and harmonic scale is amazing!
I'm not sure how this relates to general game discussion, but okay. I don't have a favorite, but the one that's always playing in the back of my mind is: Gun - John Cale I don't think whoever plays the solo is notable at all, but I'm very fond of it.
Ya from what I hear from people I know who play guitar it isn't all that difficult to play, but it just sounds awesome.
Lol, yeah, I don't know crap about playing guitar, but from a listener's standpoint it sounds like that guitar should have set on fire. As for BtBaM's solos... they just sound sick. Go listen to Disease, Injury, Madness... I've never heard anything quite like it. One of my favorite songs.
Oh wow... Norther... they had one song that just got stuck in my head for days... A Fallen Star was the name of the song. It was in the Hybrid: Eternal Whisper trailer. That one had a cool solo too.
