Final Fantasy II will at last be mine (after paying full price for Final Fantasy I, and glad to get it at that...)
FF1 or FF2? I'm new to JRPGs, but I'm enjoying my first one with Chaos Rings. How similar are the FF games to CR and which should I try first? (Or maybe I'll get both, too.)
If you're newer to RPG gaming you might not want to start with FF although it is a classic everyone should play at some point. CR seems to have a cult status with generally favorable reviews so that might be a safer bet to start out with. I haven't played CR yet but have assumed that the FF games are night and day from CR. I use to obsess over FF in my NES days so I picked it up becuse I like the throw-back turn based RPGs. At times I've wondered if modern Square Enix has taken a detour away from game mechanics towards epic storytelling even at the expense of gameplay (a la FF X which felt like an unending series of cinematics [playstation 2 era]). I wonder if CR falls into that trap. FF1 and FF2 are similar but not related by storyline just gameplay style/theme so you don't have to play one to enjoy the other but I think FF1 is more popular (I've never played FF2).
Yes but release sales and up to same date, but this forum part is anti release sales. I'll still get it before the end date but good to know when it ends so I'll keep it for later.
Awesome! and just in time too! (just got my first ipod touch) I can safely say, by january 5th I'll have all square enix's games
