    He's fat and all that.
    He bleeds cheese.
He lost his virginity to a burrito.

We're talking about our hero, The Chub, of course.

Hey everyone! Vain Media (aka Team Chub) is releasing our first original IP mobile game soon. Set in Hell, even the afterlife can't stop The Chub from breaking loose and pigging out. The game blends intuitive tilt controls with eating, running and uh...more eating. You can explore 30 levels across 3 worlds (appetizers, entrees, and desserts) for a unique combination of puzzles and action. We've finished the official trailer for the game so we're pretty excited to share it with you. Hope it gives you a giggle.

*Bounce off springs with realistic physics
    *Navigate strategic teleporters
*Go on a magic silver platter ride
*Gorge on a trail of food - Hansel and Gretel aint got nothin' on this
*Dodge or kill enemies - how dare they stand in the way of yums?

We're still in the QA process and doing some fine tuning. The iPhone/iPod version will hopefully launch in the next month or two with an Android version following shortly afterwards. In the meantime, you can chat with The Chub directly on the usual social platforms linked on our website: http://feedthechub.com.

We also have a mailing list set up so please subscribe here if you'd like to join The Chub Club for updates. ;)

Thanks for looking, everyone! May you dream in buttercream. <3

    LOL funny trailer....

The game looks fun though it's an endless "runner" game... Let's see how it'll be

  3. Aww, glad you laughed! :3 Always happy to spread some silliness.

The game actually has multiple levels/end points but we did toy with the idea of an endless runner game initially! We're fans of Doodle Jump, Temple Run, etc. However, we also wanted the option of introducing different environments and food types (sooo many pig out options). Because of this, it made more sense to have distinct levels and end points. Our menu navigation is actually a restaurant chalkboard menu with various food items/levels to choose from. :p

So basically the goal of the game is to collect enough ingredients by the end of the level to get the whole treat. Here's a sneak peek of our result screen.

The later levels (desserts) are definitely more challenging so please excuse the embarrassing score on the screengrab. Definitely felt like throwing my phone while QAing this game at times. Some levels are very challenging but hey, who wants to play a game that you can beat in 5 minutes?

Will this be universal? I only have iPad right now..

  5. This looks really funny!

  6. Hi Copaeci - at present our plan is to release first on iPhone, and follow up later with an iPad build. There's a slight chance we'll release them both at the same time but it's likely iPad will be delayed. But nice to hear that you have an iPad -- this is adding to our incentive to get the QA/etc sorted out on that platform so we can ship it. However we also are spending a lot of time eating cookies and milk.

On the iPhone we can play with one hand but with the iPad we tend to use 2 hands which makes it harder to eat while playing. Also there are a number of nice pizza joints and diners near our office. We're building with the Unity engine so it's relatively easy to make the game work universally across iPhone/iPad.
