I'd actually liked to have seen some adverts with a IAP to remove them or maybe skins packs or something, just something so that these guys will get some money as so far I can't see any need to buy any IAP?? Maybe that's just me though. Well anyway gameplay impressions, graphics and physics here are sweet, the controls are tilt with a brake button on the left and a gas button on the right (you have limited supply of gas as your plane is falling apart after all) It took me a couple of runs to realise that I was supposed to be landing at airports to get more passengers I started off just landing anywhere and wondering why my passengers didn't want to fly with me There's pickups, coins etc to collect while flying so you can unlock new planes and upgrade them. From what I gather so far your goal is to keep flying and landing at airports then taking off again so that you keep a supply of passengers but it's obviously not that easy as there's things to avoid in the sky like other planes and birds then you have the fact your plane is falling apart and constantly losing speed so you have to manage the throttle and use the gas wisely to get as far as you can. When you reach certain distance milestones the environment changes and they all look pretty different from what I've seen. Overall this is looking really good so far and I'll be playing this for a while. Only downside I see is that I can't see the devs getting to much money without having some other IAP added? Which is a strange thing to say but this free model seems far to generous. Well from this amount of text I've just write you can probably tell that I like this and since it's free there's no reason why you shouldn't download this and give it a try. Now I'm off to fly my plane................ Zwilnik Well-Known Member Oct 7, 2008 1,000 10 38 http://www.strangeflavour.com/ #12 Zwilnik, Feb 11, 2014 There's no ads (although there will be Everyplay Gameads available so you can earn free wings in the 1.1 update). I think our general policy is going to be that buying IAP will remove ads if we do them in any of our games. New England Gamer Moderator Staff Member Patreon Silver Patreon Gold Patreon Bronze Jul 30, 2009 6,143 1 0 #13 New England Gamer, Feb 11, 2014 Is it all tilt controls? Any option for anything else? Zwilnik Well-Known Member Oct 7, 2008 1,000 10 38 http://www.strangeflavour.com/ #14 Zwilnik, Feb 11, 2014 Currently tilt controls or MFi controllers, but Oooomonkey also mentioned preferring on-screen buttons for the iPad, so I'll probably be making that an option for the 1.1 One thing the game does do, apart from the tilt sensitivity slider in the game options, is that it automatically bumps up the tilt sensitivity depending on the weight/size of the device, so the iPad mini is more sensitive than the iPhone and the full size iPad is even more sensitive by default. oooooomonkey Well-Known Member Jan 15, 2011 6,307 0 0 Forge World #15 oooooomonkey, Feb 11, 2014 After turning up the sensitivity to full I'm finding it much better than when I first started. I've only got an icade cabinet though (no mfi controller) so buttons would still be a nice option. Really enjoying the game so far, rescuing the kittens is nice and the plane damage is really cool. It's pretty addictive game, One question though about the seat upgrades and things that you can buy with the wings, are they one use or permanent upgrades to you plane? Zwilnik Well-Known Member Oct 7, 2008 1,000 10 38 http://www.strangeflavour.com/ #16 Zwilnik, Feb 11, 2014 They're per game (a couple are one shot, like the inflatable airport and spare engine) but any equipped on your aircraft are destroyed if you crash land away from an airport. As the tips mention, any upgrades that pop up in the in-flight shop are about 20% cheaper than if you buy them in the hangar, but they pop up at random (the in-flight shop will tend to offer you repair bonuses when you *really* need them though ). You also earn more wings and cargo crates if you don't land. The longer you fly, the more will pop up. Ok, well, monkey pretty much summed everything up for me. I have been playing for about 45mins and I'm loving the game. I honestly don't see how the devs are going to make any money on this though. I feel no need (as of right now) to use IAPs. I'm not complaining. I'm playing a really fun game for free. Maybe add a coin doubler or something or a special plane. I played through the tutorial and still was a little confused on what to do, but after a few goes, I figured it you. It kind of reminds me of that Zombie Ace game that came out a year or so ago. You are trying to get from airport to airport dropping off and picking up passangers. Of course it gets tougher as you progress. The kitten collecting is a really nice touch also. There's like 46 kittens I think randomly scattered all over. I have 3 so far. The tilt controls work well in the game. I don't feel the need to have buttons at all. Seriously, this is a very fun game. I highly recommend you at least give it a download when it's released in your area. Hopefully the developers make money on this somehow because it would be a shame to see this game "go down in flames." (Hehe, see what I did there? Cuz the plane crashes?)....yea, my puns are horrible. Sanuku Well-Known Member Jun 14, 2009 11,954 4 38 Austria http://www.touchgameplay.com #18 Sanuku, Feb 11, 2014 I don`t like the fact that you actually loose all the Gold that you have so far collected if you are unable to restart your run because you have run out of Air Wings. Just lost like 30 Minutes of Gameplay (Around 400.000 Gold). Zwilnik Well-Known Member Oct 7, 2008 1,000 10 38 http://www.strangeflavour.com/ #19 Zwilnik, Feb 11, 2014 You can buy more wings at that point or save the ones you've got for the next run. Continues get progressively more expensive though so you can't just grind your way through (unless you've gone for the all you can eat IAP option of course). There are checkpoints every 4 levels (when there's a cutscene) so when you do another run you can skip through them when you take off rather than having to play through them again. Or you can choose to play through them again to build up coins and wings. oooooomonkey Well-Known Member Jan 15, 2011 6,307 0 0 Forge World #20 oooooomonkey, Feb 11, 2014 Hmmm I hadn't noticed that until you said it, how are we supposed to save up to unlock the planes if you don't keep your money?
