as we all know, games under 20M could be directly downloaded on your phone through 3G wireless network, while those bigger than 20m can not. Then, it comes up with a question that how often do you search and browse game on your iphone and buy it? do you prefer this way or like to use your PC/MAC do this job and sync the game from itunes? comments and additional remarks are welcomed. thx~
You need to add an option for downloading over Wifi to your poll. Most users hate syncing with iTunes but won't be restricted to 20 MB, either.
I never use iTunes. But I always use wifi, so the size limit doesn't matter. My computer was down when I first got my iPad, so I downloaded games directly to it for a few weeks, and I hate how long it takes to sync, so I just never did. I have quite a few folders full of games now, which would take forever to transfer. But if I were making a game, I wouldn't try getting under 20mb if that meant sacrificing quality or features.
I use my iPod instead of my computer. It's just a lot easier for me, as it's usually faster/easier to use my iPod rather than booting up the comp. I also agree there should be a wifi option in the poll.
Yep this poll needs a Wi-Fi option, best speeds and no size limits, it's Wi-Fi for me everytime when I can't be bothered to sync, and that's most times.
Well as long as a game interests me enough I can wait till I have wifi access, I don't really like when developers don't add content or improve quality just to stay under 20mb. I think the best way to manage file size of an app would be to make the full game however big it needs to be and have a free version that is under 20mb, if possible.
Wifi as well on my iPod and iPad. Despise iTunes and syncing, will regularly transfer new downloads from devices to iTunes for backup.
damn it! how could i forget WIFI! sorry for the miss... anyway, based on your guys' feedback, i finally feel settled about the size thing. some told me that the size matters a lot! and they say i must keep my games under 20m for a bigger audience. since you guys use wifi so much, then it seems the issue is not that serious as i imagined. BTW, is the WIFI coverage in publish space wide and common there in the US?
I wouldn't have bought and played half the games if it were not for the convenience of Wi-Fi. Almost always use this feature to dl games.
I also use wi-fi almost exclusively for direct downloading to my ipod. Access is widely available both privately and publicly in most cities.
I use wifi most of the time but I'm at uni most of the days so I bought 3G unrestricter which lets me download apps that are over the limit on 3g. (also helps with youtube's resolution while on 3g. heh)
cool~never though there is such kind of thing...3G unrestricter...interesting... i'll google it soon~~
I use wifi a lot these days. Btw, when I purchase huge games e.g. Splinter Cell, the app restarts downloading and never to get seemed finish. I usually do multiple downloads like last Christmas, I downloaded SM total mayhem, Mk, along with splinter cell. Like, right now, I redownloaded( does this word even exist?) asphalt 6 and right after some point, the download bar restarts again. P.S. I also purchased Asphalt 6 and it takes forever to Dow...oh, well it's currently installing. So yeah, anyone experiencing this?
