If im starting a game, is it straight codes, or do you have to program it to walk and stuff like on gamemaker (if you have ever tried that)
Probably this one: iPhone and iPod Touch Developers Or, if you're a developer, you can apply to be a part of the super secret developers only sub-forum.
Depends on what you use. If you just use the iphone SDK, you have to program everything. I recommend just trying to compile and run the sample programs to start learning. And you need a mac.
wait wait wait I went to this website called game salad, and i could dowload a thing that lets you make phone games.. i could dowload it on a PC... Why do you need a mac then
The thing that allows you to actually run the games on the iphone. You have to pay $100 dollars to get into apples developer program, then you have to download the iphone sdk and xcode compiler. without those your game won't be able to run on the iphone, and you won't be able to put it out on the appstore or anything.
I think that the iPhone market will not work for you. There are many other options and opportunities out there, I would advise that you give those a try. I know you are young and impatient. Think of the iPhone as a future goal to look forward to, rather than a starting point. Submit your iPhone app when you have something worthwhile.
I recommend Unity (www.unity3d.com). The free version allows you to make games for pc, mac and for their web plugin. It is best for 3D games, but it is also possible to do 2D. They have a version that allows you to publish to iPhone. You'd still need a mac, and the apple license (which costs $100), and you have to pay for Unity iPhone (don't remember the price, I think it is around $300 or $400 for the basic version). That might be too expensive for you, but it is a great product that's well worth the cash. But learn with the free version first. Maybe even make and release a mac/pc/web game to earn some money.
Just use game salad, virtualy no coding involved, lots of helpful tutorials, perfect for begginers. It will cost you 100$ to get the iphone version plus an you will also need an apple developers licence (100$)
I think you dont need to pay 100 bucks until you actually want to deploy your application on a device. You can just develop with the SDK and run on the simulator to test. Pay the 100 only after your app is finished. But you still need a mac.
