OT: Quite impressed with this. I knew I would be given the developer's ability to deliver beautifully designed products but it's always nice to have your faith reassured. It reminds me somewhat of Toast Time where it uses the Super Crate Box mechanic of constantly alternating weapons and also with the vertical nature of the gameplay.

It's one of the few games I prefer with tilt controls, it adds somewhat to the experience for me. That's not to say that I wouldn't want to try it with touch controls though, just that it's impressive that my least favourite control option is actually well-implemented for once.

If anyone's just about to start playing then you really have to do so with the volume up! It's a gorgeous game to look at, in my opinion, but the beauty is really being poured into your ears via trippy bit-tunes. It's a really solid game which I would have happily paid for.

I think everyone has pretty much summed this up, but have to add my recommendation. The immediate parallels I drew when I started playing were Super Crate Box, Toast Time and 1001 Attempts - all excellent, paid games - and this is right up there with them.

Pete's right that the soundtrack gives it another dimension and the action ramps up beautifully.

Edit: forgot to mention, it also has unlockable hats for your spaceship. I'm pretty sure you could unlock hats for you toaster in Toast Time too. Not sure which is odder.

Just tried this game on my iPhone 4S and was surprised to see that it's letterboxed! As in there are grey boxes on the left and right of the screen, apparently to maintain the aspect ratio of the 4" screen (on my now outdated 3.5" screen.) Not a deal breaker but this is the first time that I've seen this and it makes everything seem much smaller than it should be.

It appears from the screenshots that it's letterboxed on iPad as well. I guess it makes sense in order to keep the leaderboards fair. I just felt like pointing this out because my phone now feels more obsolete than ever!

If I understand you correctly, it's a warning that a projectile is about to fly onscreen from that location.

It's too late.

I'm actually really digging this game. I'm getting my a$$ kicked by a lot of you guys, but it's still really fun!
