I had to write this email to iTunes support today about a game called Battle Bots with Buddies that I purchased this morning.
    -------------------------------------------------------
    This game is a fake.

    Japanese App Store: https://itunes.apple.com/jp/app/battle-bots-with-buddies/id782936841?l=en&mt=8

    USA App Store: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/battle-bots-with-buddies/id782936841?mt=8

Please take it off the iTunes App Store. After you purchase it you need to register with an email address in order to play. After you register it will tell you that you can now login, but when you try to login it will tell you there is no such email address. Also it never sends a verification email to the address you used when you registered.

Also there are no website or support site URLs on their App Store pages. The name of the company "Building Blocks LLC" or "Childhood Building Blocks LLC" are fakes and Googling them takes you to either child care or real estate websites. I think the creators of this game just picked some random company names they found on the web and used that to register this game on the iTunes App Store. They have about 5 or 6 games on the iTunes App Store, and none of the corresponding pages for the games have support URLs.

And one last thing…the reason I bought this game is because is looks exactly like a game I bought a year or two ago on the iTunes App Store that is no longer in production. It was by P.L Young and named BattleMass

I know P.L Young, the creator of BattleMass, and he stopped production because his sales couldn't cover his server costs. So he put the game Framework up for sale on Unity's Asset Store.

So I think that this disreputable Childhood Building Blocks LLC is taking game projects that can be found around the web and selling them on the iTunes App Store. There was another incident like this of a disreputable developer taking a Unity 3D tutorial, renaming it, and selling it as is on the iTunes App Store.

  2. Yeah, selling tutorials seems pretty unethical. Hope you get your money back.
