Let's say I buy an iPhone app. Then the "iPad Version" of the app comes out. My questions .... 1] Will there a notification that the "iPad Version" is available ? 2] Will the "iPad Version" automatically download ? 3] Do I hafta rebuy the app for the "iPad Version" ? That's pretty much it. lol Thanks in advance!
My guess is that you will have to buy a new iPad version -- which will hopefully come loaded with new features.
It depends on the developer. All I know is that the devs of Labyrinth 2 are doing their best to make it one app, probably for free, possibly DLC. (I am so looking foward to Labyrinth 2 on the iPad - if that isn't a device seller, I don't know what is!)
FUDGE .... I don't have an iPhone or an iPod Touch. I bought a bunch of apps in anticipation of the iPad -- so I'll have a bunch of stuff to put on it once the Big Day comes. Now I'll hafta rebuy 37 apps ?!? Does anyone know how good the iPhone > iPad pixeldoubling is? Is it too blurry? Is it OK? Is there no noticable degredation? Thanks in advance!
You bought 37 apps even though you don't have any devices...? I think I heard that all the games will work on the iPad, even if it isn't ported or anything. It'll just be blown up.
I think youll be right, although some may have better ipad exclusive improvements, you should be able to play all of the apps youve already purchased. I dont know if the ipad versions will need to be re bought though, spose it will be depending on the dev
Yes. I have iPod Touch (3rd Gen), OS 3.x in my avatar 'cause NONE OF THE ABOVE isn't available. lol Right, right. Steve said that in the keynote. I'm asking -- will the blownup app look pixel-y in shite-y?
If you bought 37 apps without even owning an iDevice, then yes it was an incredibly stupid move. The apps aren't growing legs and running off when you get an iPad, what's the point of buying them earlier? I think iPad and iDevice games have nothing to do with each other. It's like Xbox and PS3, owning the same game for Xbox doesn't mean you can play it on PS3.
$0.99 sales, $0.00 sales (iTunes does give you an invoice for all those free apps...) There are a number of games I bought right away to take advantage of sales, even though I wasn't going to be playing them immediately... When my coworker said he was getting his son an iPod Touch, I advised him to get his kid an account and start grabbing all the free for a day games so he'd have them when he got the device.
Why? I wanted something to have to upload to the iPad immediately. Also, ya ever get excited about somethin' & prep for it in advance? Like, before I got my MacBook, I bought a bag for it. And I bought a bunch of eBooks before I got the Kindle 2 -- that I regret buying. lol So you think the iOS games I have now won't work on the iPad ?
I don't like the looks of this .... lol Steve said in the iPad KeyNote any iOS apps'll work on the iPad, because, to use his words: "... we want you to hit the ground running." Was he just PRing us or do his words ring true?
i can understand grabbing the free games.. and if its a 10.00 app buying it for 2.00 before you get it to some degree. however, i would not buy anymore till you get your ipad. go ahead and keep getting the free games tho. just my two cents. i do not see a lot of ipad special games happen till people get the ipad in there hands.. this includes the developers.. im sure most of them want to test there software on the real deal not a virtual tool. at least i would want to test my own code on a real ipad to see how it feels in my hand etc.. i figure after the ipad comes out you will have more options.. im trying to visualize what GTA would be like on the ipad. chris.
