    // INFO

This is my latest project in which I'm exploring a simplistic you-only-need-one-finger control scheme, an open space environment, and gradients. Will be released on iOS, Android, Windows, and MacOSX.

See the DevLog in it's entirety HERE

    • Category: Space Cowboy Simulator
Inspired by: Cowboy Bebop, No Man's Sky, Journey, The Binding of Isaac, space, Colorado, gummy worms, people who complained about the complicated controls of my previous game (David)
      File Size (of demo): 2mb
      Made with: Gamemaker Studio

Now that I finally saw all the GIFs in motion, I can only say that this looks like it's going to blow David away

Btw, how is the David update coming along? I recall you had posted about it on Twitter a while ago. Android version and new levels

:D I hope so! David is neat, but I think I can do better.

As for the David update, I'm kinda just waiting on some money to come in so I can purchase an android device or two for testing. The one device I had is just way too old. :/

    UPDATE 8/10/2014

This past week, I went to Colorado with the in-laws, and had a really refreshing time. Non-#gamedev work has been incredibly draining lately, so this vacation was a blessing. Mountains, rivers, chilliness, and many other non-Texas stuff. I know it was vacation, but I love to work on my games, so quite a few times I opened up the laptop and made a few additions to Baseless. Here you go:

    • // Prettier galaxy birth.

    • // Ability to have multiple snake worms in existence. Looks gross/beautiful.

    • // And lastly, planet-defending turrets and fighter jets.

Baseless is starting to take shape, and I'm really liking the look of it so far. I'll update the demo for you all to play very soon!

Same here! Happily, I've found that gifs work really well for showing off flowy physics-based gameplay. Still screenshots never do it justice.

No real suggestions other than keep it awesome! Also, keep the connection you have with us in the forums. We really appreciate the bond we can have between developer and player.

Hmmn, I ought to put a little video together, but it kinda feels too early in development to do it. I'm definitely trying to get to a point of being able to show off a trailer, but I'm afraid if I do something now, it will turn people off because it's not ready/finished. Does that make sense?

For now, gifs, screenshots, and devlogs will have to suffice!

Yeah I completely agree, wait till you have a solid build. It looks very unique, curious to see how it plays out. I'll keep my eye on this

It's encouraging when you can't stop play-testing cause you're having too much fun. My "real" job has been keeping me painfully busy, but here's a few new gifs since last time:

    • Small snakeworms. Gotta figure out how to keep em from glitching out like this.

    • A for-testing-only planet creation system.

    • And here's a last one just for fun. I find myself trying to do this orbiting thing all the time when testing. Physics maaaaaaaan.

    • Also, I got another monitor at home for game dev'in'. All da monitors.
