The Underground Library | Paul Evans

With The Underground Library scene, 2D artist Paul Evans limits himself to the use of 8 of his created materials and a maximum of 2500 polys. While the scene was developed on Autodesk Maya, every material was created by the texture artist using his Allegorithmic Substance Painter/Designer workflow.

Here are various renders & more from the Library's archaeological setting.

    Project E.X.E | Antonio d'Amore

The Warrior is a 3D sci-fi character concept modelled, textured and rigged by Higher Eclectic Ground artist Antonio d'Amore earlier this year. The artist had intended to demonstrate his modelling-animation workflow to a game developer, who at the time was looking for 3D character modellers/animators for a MOBA game.

Here are various stages of the character's development that although won't be making it into the game, still exists as a worthy addition to d'Amore's portfolio. You may also choose to view each stage in fully interactive 3D at his Space.

Antonio of course, being a Higher Eclectic Ground freelance artist whose specialities lie in both, the 2D and 3D design of illustrations, characters, assets/props, environments, storyboards and animations. Actively looking for freelance work within the independent game industry, he's only considering paid, flat-fee based jobs at the moment rather than rev-shares.

Even so, feel free to reach out to us with your job requests by commenting below or mailing us at team[at]highereg[dot]com. Hiring Antonio via Higher Eclectic Ground not only brings his expertise to the table, but also perks such as --

    And more.

    Gate | Paul Evans

This history-ravaged 3D model of a gate has material/texture artist Paul Evans exhibiting newly created concrete and brick materials developed on Substance by Allegorithmic. All other textures have been developed ad hoc by the artist himself as well.

Based within the U.K, Paul Evans is a freelance 2D artist creating a plethora of textures, materials and substances for video games.

His workflow is predominantly Substance Designer/Painter based, with Adobe Photoshop, Unreal Engine and Maya being important items in his toolset.

    Dragon's Peak Re-paint | Brandon Crampton

Here's a quick look at the evolution Dragon's Peak has undergone in the two years since its inception.

Developed by Higher Eclectic Ground artist Brandon Crampton, the scenic concept has been an obvious nod to his fascination for The Hobbit and all things Dragon. He'd originally imagined it to be part of an in-game quest-based environment. Need similar artwork developed for your own games?

Write to us (and/or view Brandon's portfolio).

    --

Brandon Crampton is currently open to the creation of not just 2D concepts, landscapes, portraits, illustrations, vector art and sprites,

But also to the 3D modelling, rigging and animation of characters for new/upcoming games.

Due to heavy workload through this month and the next however, his availability during this period might vary. Feel free to reach out with your collaboration requests regardless, using the above hyperlink or by mailing team[at]highereg[dot]com.

Wooden Roof Tiles | Paul Evans

Old, wooden roof tiles that have proved to be Paul Evans' most challenging set of substances yet.

Paul's focus lies in the creation of custom textures and materials while also being open to their application on 3D models by means of 3D painting software in a variety of self-developed styles. Requests for similarly patterned substances, materials, textures and/or specific texture design jobs are welcome, and may be left on the artist's Higher Eclectic Space.

    Demon Warrior | Brandon Crampton

The Demon Warrior had our artist Brandon Crampton attempt to improve upon his character design, posing and general rendering technique. He believes he's made progress, but isn't quite there yet. What do you think?

Despite Brandon's availability being tentative through July, 2017, the artist is open to considering 2D/3D character design requests among others.

Reach out to us with the appropriate details by mailing team[at]highereg[dot]com or by using the the contact form attached to his Space.

    Pakicetus | Brandon Crampton

This specimen here is a Pakicetus, a character model developed by artist Brandon Crampton for a game earlier this year. The creature follows the High Lord of The Gardens character on the Brandon's portfolio, who also specialises in texturing, rigging and animation of 3D character assets.

Brandon Crampton's availability is slightly tentative through the month of July given his current workload. Developers are invited to discuss potential collaborations with the artist on 3D modelling, texturing, rigging and animation related tasks for their games even so, via his Higher Eclectic Space.

The Memory Box | Paul Evans

Making use of Autodesk Maya, Paul love with a dark twist in this scene titled The Memory Box. As always, all painting and texturing was done by the artist using his Substance Painter based workflow; seen here are various renders.

We're also considering promoting Paul's availability for 3D prop/asset design work soon given how he's obviously improving in that regard. Anyhow with him currently working on expanding his 3D asset portfolio, the artist remains open to texture design positions on your teams.

    Greetings!

I'm kicking off this week with an important update to the original post of this thread, more clearly reflecting its purpose, the services I provide out of Higher Eclectic Ground, and how it ties into the freelance services offered by the music composers/sound designers I'm representing here on the Toucharcade forums.

I encourage you to check it out while also coursing through my website, that has also undergone a content update.

State of Wonder | Brandon Crampton

The Forge Knight of The Iron Legion.

Heavy, yes, but that's what State of Wonder is calling its latest sturdy and defensive card design created by Brandon Crampton.

Brandon resumed creating art assets for the upcoming card game this month, after I put him in touch with the development team of Better Built Studios back in May. The team will be previewing even more cards this Tuesday and Friday. Follow them on Facebook or Twitter to not miss out.

    Viking Sword | Paul Evans

More Viking-era inspired work by Paul Evans this week, as the artist models and textures a battle sword using Autodesk Maya and Substance by Allegorithmic respectively.

Predominantly a texture artist, Paul has been working on building his portfolio of 3D prop/asset designs off late. Missed his Viking-era axe from earlier this month? Come catch the progress he's been making.

    Back | Antonio d'Amore

After a month's hiatus, multimedia designer Antonio d'Amore is back to his drawing board albeit on limited availability. Above is a brief sketch from his travels.

Who is Antonio? He sort of resembles the brooding caricature below, and creates 2D/3D illustrations, props, animations, characters and environments. Take a look at his work and reach out to us should you consider working with him on your next game.

Hillbilly Snail (WIP) | Indigo Doyle

3D asset/prop modeller Indigo Doyle has admittedly been off the radar for a few months now owing to a busy work schedule. As she gradually looks towards opening up to freelance work over the next month, the artist has been working on overhauling her website and sharing creations from her off time.

Here's one I found on her website; the makeshift Hillbilly Snail caravan based off a paper model Indigo found online. It's still in progress, although you can find more on her prior work, services and else on Higher Eclectic Ground.

Matured & The Yoke | Nighttime Sketches | Brandon Crampton

Brandon Crampton may have had his hands full working on Better Built Studios' upcoming card game State of Wonder last month, yet he still managed the odd night-time sketch.

Quite a few actually; here's the first couple, called Mature and The Yoke respectively, from his sketch-book. Like them? There's more where these came from.
