IMO unreal 3 mobile is not that good compared with gameloft's. the games of gameloft: Loading time is short;more smooth; graphic is not that bad compared with unreal 3 So I'm not suprised that gameloft abandoned using UE3. one more thing, Unity is way better than unreal 3 maybe.
Most devs wouldn't know the first thing about how to optimize UE3 for iOS devices. Gameloft's engine is internal, built from the ground specifically for iOS gaming, and highly optimized. But it doesn't matter the tools you have at your disposal. It matters only what you do with it. Who cares how impressive Gameloft's engine is, since they only make 1 or 2 legitimate games a year with it. Gameloft's engine is not better then Chair/Epic. It's only better then UE3 if UE3 is in the hands of a third-party developer.
NOVA 3 is a step down from MC3 in some aspects, pictures on the boards or wall are legible and interesting in MC3, but in NOVA 3, they're low resolution.
This was my favorite part of the thread so far. He starts with "Unity is way better than unreal 3", as if he is stating some fact, and then ends with a "maybe". Like now just a word later he is unsure if it is better or not. Winning.
devs dont know how to use/optimize UE3 since they didnt make the engine themselves and gameloft uses their own custom engine which they know how to use to the fullest potential since they built the engine themselves
Until i see a game like Nova3 or shadowgun using UE3 on Ios devices , the UE3 is a non-factor . The Unity engine is the best atm .
