Are you more looking for games than playing games?

Oh, the hunger for new games... the angst! - to miss a new good game or a deal! Yes, I admit it can get quite addicting.

Interesting is, that in last months, as I still had my 3GS, it wasn't a problem... all these games and deals. But then I got my iPhone 5 and this caused kind of an addiction reset.

I think this is possible since the Appstore games are cheap as heck... evenafter the big Steam sales I end up with a handful of new games because all stuff was gettable for just a few Euros.

My friend told me about his daily routine: stand up, go to potty, scan Appshopper while there, then a shower and coffee or breakfast after this, with more tA and other sites scanning.

Sometimes I wonder if I'm just trying to fill a void.. Constantly looking for a new game to buy..then have to force myself to open it, often I enjoy it but never open it again, instead go on another hunt for something awesome. I'm a freak, I know. It's addictive.. It give should a slight rush.. It's like retail therapy. But a very affordable way of doing it. I don't think you can get a small rush for $1 anywhere else.. Except in those countries where drugs are legal and you can buy a line of coke or a joint off a menu for $10. Not really a buck for a slight rush though.. I guess each puff would probably be a buck.

yeah, i can definitely see myself as a member of the collectors' group.

to me, the main "culprit" in this situation is the super strong current of new games that come out every week, which can generate a feeling of "what am i missing" or a constant desire to check out what's new.

personally, i love this, and the "problem" is not on me. if there were fewer games - i would have spent more time on any particular game. but since this is not the case, i jump frantically from one game to the next.

also, i tend to spend more time on music making applications than i do on games these days.

I've got currently (ahem) just under 600 games on my ipod. I've also got tons of books/audio books/comics and films. You might tell i like variety !

Thats one great thing about iOS, on my gadget i can play a quick game or two of Dream League soccer, then quit and move to a platform game, then a bit of retro Atari games, then back to say a 'click and point' style adventure. Then a Fighting Fantasy gamebook, bit of a fruit machine for 10 mins and then some Pinball.

I love the variety of games, got so many great ones though so the problem is i 'should' play one game for days on end and complete it (and de-install) but i tend to dip in and out of so many.

I accumulate too many games and spend way to much time reading about and discussing them rather then playing them, but it is enjoyable being part of this community.

Since I discovered TouchArcade, I've spent more time there than playing games Well Modern Combat series is the only exception.

You forgot the one hour a day, trying to figure out which apps to delete. I swear, I play apps more to try to determine if I should delete them, rather than playing for fun. What a sad existance this is...

Really wish I had a 128 gb new ipad. When my new ipad came out, I was all ready to give apple an extra $100 for a 128 gb version, too bad it didn't happen. Can't believe apple didn't make it an option for ipad 4. That is its main flaw now.

64 gb just isn't enough space for hoaders! Hoarders unite! Tell Apple we need more space! I am getting sick of deleting apps everyday! I'm really gonna break down and cry if all those games I have in my delete que get pulled for some reason. Seems everyday, another game gets pulled. Just today, tried to upload absolute instant, and it is gone. And going through 5000 entries in your purchased log is agonizing!!! The sheer terror with no search ability, and sometimes it is permanantly pulled!

Yes, I know I am an addict, with problems. But at least this kind of addiction is really easy to hide, no one knows I suffer from it, they probably would just think that I am a computer geek as I sit here and type away. They can't even tell by looking at my screen that I have a problem like a porn addict would have. Nothing I do gives away my addiction. Which makes it oh so much worse...

But yes, the first step is admitting to the problem, and for that, I admit, I am an app addict.

Ha ha i'm totally the same, horde games ! I was quite good recently and deleted apps which were about 3 gb but even then i was gnawing my teeth thinking 'aarrrgh dont want to delete that one' (Even though i havent played it in months !)

I need to streamline my apps as i download lots of podcasts as well, might have another dreaded cull later !

A 128 gb device is surely coming in the next range of hardware ? Games are getting bigger and bigger, have to surely
