I enjoyed the original version which was Space Ghost and Buck Rogers themed. Glad to see it remade with a more generic theme. Maybe this version will survive. Now I just need to play it enough to reclaim my spot on the leaderboards. Mongapop Well-Known Member Feb 25, 2014 138 0 0 http://www.mongapop.com #9 Mongapop, Jan 29, 2015 It's funny the science o the app store. I only do the apps for fun, and this one, should be one of the more polished ones I did, and, apparently, nice to play. Even free, d/l #'s are really low. Using A = the number of people who find it inside the app store and B% the percentage of those which download it I really don't know which one (A or B) I'm missing. I mean, I don't intend to have an Angry Birds or Clash of Clans, but, it's really low. Here are the keywords: retro gyruss classic 8bit abadox musha fantasy dragon pixel center blast simple cool shooter mania nightc1 Well-Known Member Oct 19, 2012 4,362 0 0 AL #10 nightc1, Jan 30, 2015 I think the problem is your naming convention. Who would download something called "Space Force 8-bit in Aleste Darius Mission - Musha iCade World Edition". That's the most BS name I've ever read. If you'd just make an original simple name it would help people find it and would make it easy to spread the word. No way I'm telling my friends to go download a game called "Space Force 8-bit in Aleste Darius Mission - Musha iCade World Edition". The keywords also don't make much sense for the game. Ok some of them do... retro, shooter... but the rest... eh? They don't reflect the game. This isn't gyruss or abadox. It isn't Dragon Fantasy. It's a simple retro atari 2600 styled shooter. But also given this is the second (to my knowledge) release of the game and the third (to my knowledge, it may be more) name for the game it really makes it difficult to track. This is easily the most polished game you've done. But it's so genericly named and hard to find I searched for Mongapop instead of the game when I went to download it. Maybe it should be just called "Mongapop Retroids"? Lavender Well-Known Member Dec 31, 2013 2,967 0 36 United States #11 Lavender, Jan 31, 2015 Ahhh.... Thanks! I know...... Didn't want to look too narcissistic! LOL "Lavender Shield." Woo hoo! Mongapop Well-Known Member Feb 25, 2014 138 0 0 http://www.mongapop.com #12 Mongapop, Jan 31, 2015 Thx! I'll rename it to Retroids. That's it. *PS* The ridiculous long name, was just an attempt to get more visibility through ASO. Obviously it didn't worked out. Like, someone once said: Definition of Insanity? doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results? Good bye long name. Let's suppose you want to play something like this game, what would you search for at the APP store? That can help me with the new keywords. *BTW* Any other (quick & easy) request/suggestion for the new version? Otherwise I'll just change the name. Icon? Screenshots? Lavender Well-Known Member Dec 31, 2013 2,967 0 36 United States #15 Lavender, Feb 23, 2015 I know you wrote '80' but if I was searching for games with an 80's feel, I would actually type in my search "80's or 80s." I don't know if that would make a difference. Other keywords I might use: arcade, Atari, console (for console games), neon, sci fi, space, ships, iCade, bit, 8bit, pixel, popular, lavender shield ( just kidding!). Don't be so hard on yourself with the download count. It's a big world out there with millions of apps and developers trying to get noticed. And I agree with Nightc about the original name possibly not working. Too long, I think. I like 'Retroids.' Have you thought about changing up some of the pics or video? Because your game has an 80's feel, you could do some of that old cheesy 80's Advertising. ie: large words on the front of some of the pictures that say things like; explosive! Retro! In your face! Best thing to do in your underwear! On your video/trailer do a voice over with the words. Have the word appear on the screen very small and enlarge like an explosion when the word is said and just as quickly disappear. Think comic strips that use words like; boom! Pow! Your voice over could say something along the lines of; "Take yourself to the days of retro when people faced slushie brain freezes with courage and talking to your TV made men in white coats appear to take you away. Play Retroids and show who you really are because at Retroids, we know that pause buttons are for Wusses and high scores are for winners. Exciting! Edge of your seat! Fast! Shoot! Not for weaklings! RETRIOIDS" Something cheesy and funny anyway. I don't know. Just an idea. ... Also... In your other thread there's a picture of someone playing icade. Is that you??
