I think it would be nice for developers to have a special title (i.e Senior Member, Junior) so they can be more easily recognized. I think it's important because there are some great devs on the site such as Majic Jungle Software and Freeverse, but when the first create their account they are overlooked due to their "Junior" title.

To confirm they're developer-ness :p, an email could be sent to the developer website found in the App Store, then a confirmation.

    What do you think?

great idea. There needs to be many more titles available, like over 500 posts, over 1000, over 9000, you know, the like.

But yeah that would be a great way to know who we are talking to.

yeah i like the idea. also if you are in the dev club u should be a "developer".

but remember people like me have acess to the developer club but am not a dev (yet!). im a graphics designer and work with devs. so i would like it if mine said "Graphics Designer"

Better yet, have the name of the developer as the title.

Freeverse, Bullet Development, Subatomic Studios, etc etc

I'll ask Arn what he thinks. The issue is spending the time varifying and then going into thier profiles all the time and changing the title.

No kidding. I guess he (arn) could get one of the mods, or someone else to got through everyone, instead of wasting the time himself.

I will admit that unless it is an admin or mod telling me off or laying down the law, then I don't pay that much attention to member titles in forums.

However, if having a Developer member title will re-enforce that TA welcomes developers (who are open and honest when they post) and if it will make it easier for everyone to keep track of "who's who in the zoo" (especially me as I am just hopeless with remembering names and who does what) then I think a Developer member title is a good idea.

well imo i think all the ppl in the dev group should get the title. and then the ppl who r not devs who r like graphics designers can just tell arn to please fix it. this would be much faster since there are lots of devs in the group and little graphics designers and other ppl

  11. I think this is a great idea. However, it literally should be for developers only, not people who work with them. The reason being, we have a rule that only the developers themselves can provide codes for their own games.
If I see someone giving codes away, I have to check to see if they are the developer. A lot of the time, they have something in their sig to suggest that. But sometimes they don't. Having a developer title will help in this regard.
Trouble is, I am a mod so I have the mod title. But what happens when I am officially a developer (as I am in training atm)? I can't have 2 titles.

Nah, I got it too... Just broke my scouter before I could tell you that his posting level WAS OVER NINE THOUSAND!!! ;)

Plus- I like the Dev tag, I frequent too many developer forums, and a lot of people have a different username in each one. Its hard to keep track of them between here and there!

A developer title is a good idea, either you should only be allowed one if you are part of the game developer forum or have an app on the store.

That or we could have Oprah say it for us ;).

But then are we going to restrict it to SOLELY people with games/apps out there or people who are trying to develop and have a project they are working on?

I think that anyone who is allowed in the developer forum should have this title.

Now if only arn had an opinion on this.
