    A while ago I put a free educational app on the App Store called Asteroids and Arithmetic. Atari contacted Apple claiming that there was a trademark infringement and I removed the app.

    I would like to put it back up under a different name. I'd love to get suggestions. I have a fresh batch of Battle for Vesta promo codes, and I'll happily give out one for each suggestion.

    Here's the idea of the game: You are presented with a series of math problems. The difficulty can be adjusted in a settings screen. Anything from 2+2 to 87*52. You can draw on the problem to work it out and then enter your answer in the keypad. If you get it right, you earn extra power ups to use in the game.

    After answering 10 problems they player gets to play a level of a 3d space shooter game, and then it is more problems.

    The idea is to use the game to encourage kids to practice appropriate math exercises.

    I was going to just leave it alone after removing the game, but then I got a comment on my blog about how his son really loves the game and I feel like I should get it back up there with a new name.

    So what do you say? Can you do better than 'Rithmetic and 'Roids?

    Math and Meteors came up as a suggestion on Facebook as well and is probably going to be the winner.

    Many thanks! Promo code has been pm'd

    If anybody has more great suggestions I'm all ears.

    My idea was "Meteor Maths" - but John has already posted a similar name above. Personally, I prefer it without the "and".

    I like the 'Battlestar Mathematica' suggestion - but it's probably hard for kids to spell. Actually, they could struggle with Meteor too. Maybe something very simple like 'Space maths' might be better.

    If I put the word "Battlestar" in, I have another trademark violation.

    If I put the word "Mathematica" in, I have another trademark violation. :(

    You could probably just do a play on the name Battle for Vesta and do Battle for equations or Battle for Math

    I like Meteor Math, without the "and," also. Other thoughts:

    * NumBlast
    * MathBlaster 3D
    * NumShmup

    From a slightly different angle: "Mathtronauts"
    (easier said than spelled?)

    I was going to suggest exactly the same name, and by the time I was done typing, I'd changed my mind for that very reason. =)

    Thanks everyone for the suggestions. I think I'm going with Meteor Math! Look for it soon on the App Store. I'm sending promo codes to the rest of the commenters. I appreciate your input!

    I used X6PWE46PLNF6 and EW6T9Y69K33F. Thanks.

    Battlefield Vesta is quite good. A bit simple, but the gameplay feels solid and arcadely. I'll leave a review for it in iTunes.
