So, the World Economy is in trouble. We are in a Recession. Reason: The Evil Bankers screwed us over! To make light of this terrible situation, we, at Retarded Arts, have created - Wall Street To GITMO.
The Evil Bankers have gotten rich while destroying the World Economy. To control this problem the government has decided to put all the Evil Bankers in a jail. Its hard to contain this type of species into any normal jail. So, the government re-opens GITMO… this time for those Evil Bankers. But guess what, even GITMO is not strong enough to contain these cunning group of professionals! They conspire in GITMO and kill all the officers but ONE. You are that remaining officer! Its now your duty to prevent the Evil Bankers from escaping GITMO! Are you up for the challenge?
This is a fast paced game where you have to prevent the Evil Bankers from escaping the jail (GITMO). Bomb them or shoot them with a bow or a gun!

    Features:
    • The game never ends, it has got Unlimited Rounds!
    • Save game after each round.
    • Three different difficulty levels: Easy, Medium, Crazy.
    • Online high scores.
    • Awesome controls of Bow, Gun and Hand grenade!
More cool features coming soon! Please let us know how you feel about this version. And yeah, don’t forget to tell us what you would like see in the future versions!

The only thing we are afraid of is if the app store would approve this application or not... The App is kinda dissing the bankers. So, do you think Apple would find it offensive? The reason I am asking this is because I did some googeling and found out that a lot of apps get rejected by apple because of weird reasons. What do you guys think?

Apparently they're really sensitive about political commentary, so you might get dinged for the general subject matter, but I kinda doubt it. This is definitely safer territory than, say, defaming a specific public figure.

Honestly the only thing I think you might get some flack for is your company name. Casual use of the word "retarded" is frowned upon by many people.

I really wonder about this. I work in banking, not the kind of banker featured in this game but still banking none the less. If the developer released a game with black people crawling out of jail and you shooting them, I don't think it would get approved, how is this any different?

Not comparable. What if they were just regular prisoners? Hell, what if they were ninjas or surfers? No one would care. Just like how no one will care whether a bunch of animated "bankers" get shot in a cell phone game. Apple may have other reasons for rejecting this one, but sensitivity to fictionalized bankers won't be one of them.

There is a distinct difference between using a group of people defined purely by occupation versus a group that is strictly categorized by race. This is a non-issue. Bringing race into this is a straw man. Are you offended by WWII games where the object is to kill Germans?

Ok, guys, I just got a mail from apple (see below). The app was rejected and this is the ONLY email we have got.
I am not sure what it means? We never contacted them and in the email they say "Thank you for the email"...? Can't decipher this on my own. What do you guys think is the reason for rejection?
I have update the binary again on itunes connect as I don't really understand this message. I have also replied this email asking them for clarifications.
Did anyone have any similar experience, this is our first app and we are not really familiar with the process :(

    Hello,

Thank you for the email. We don't think that this was a technical issue with your binary. We kindly ask that you re-upload your binary for Wall Street To GITMO 1.00. Please send me an email once this has been completed.

Wall Street to GITMO 1.0 REJECTED!

    Hi Guys,
Just wanted to update you guys, that Wall St. to GITMO was rejected.

So we changed the theme of the game with new graphics and called it "Zombie School" - This game was released today and is on app store for sale!

You can check it out on the App Store!

I will be posting some Promo codes here on Touch Arcade very soon!

Here is the story of "Wall St. To GITMO"... we submitted the app to the app store, then, a week later Apple asked us to resubmit the binary and gave us no reason why. Here is the email:

Please include the line below in follow-up emails for this request.

I guess it was their way of saying that it would take a while before they make a decision on approving or rejecting the app.
We submitted the same binary again. Then, after two weeks they rejected our app by sending this email:

Please include the line below in follow-up emails for this request.

    Follow-up: ####

    Hello,

Thank you for submitting Wall Street to GITMO to the App Store. We've reviewed Wall Street to GITMO and determined that we cannot post this version of your iPhone application to the App Store because it contains objectionable content and is in violation of Section 3.3.14 from the the iPhone Developer Program License Agreement which states:

"Applications may be rejected if they contain content or materials of any kind (text, graphics, images, photographs, sounds, etc.) that in Apple's reasonable judgement may be found objectionable, for example, materials that may be considered obscene, pornographic, or defamatory."

If you believe that you can make the necessary changes so that Wall Street to GITMO does not violate the iPhone Developer Program License Agreement, we encourage you to do so and resubmit it for review.

    Regards,
    iPhone Developer Program

    ****************************

Then, we asked them to tell us the reason for the rejection as you can see from the email they didn't specify any actual reason.

We got another mail, again after another week, with some attached images of our game. It was just the screen shot of someone playing the game.. we still are not sure what is the real reason. So we suspect that its the GITMO theme which is scaring Apple. So, we have changed the theme from Bankers to Zombies. Here is some more information on the changed version :http://www.retardedarts.com/zombie-school .

The thing that we found very annoying is the week length of delay before we got any reply from apple. If they would have let us know earlier about the delay we would have acted earlier and would have not wasted over 20 days just waiting anxiously :(

Although we are still trying to change the concept a little bit. Instead of banker, call it CEO. Lets see...

What a bummer! I have been waiting for this games release since I first heard about it. Though the gameplay is still the same and I definitely plan on a purchase. I would really have liked to gun some some of the "evil bankers". Looks like zombies will have to do :(

    Don't worry K7A7O7S,

We are trying out best to get Wall St o GITMO through... We are thinking of changing the name to a less radicle one. Perhaps "iJailBreak" or "Watt St to Jail"...
What do you guys think? Shout-out an alternative name for the game...
