That will certainly help to be able to evaluate the map easily. The adjustable speed would be nice though, as even if you pause and check out the map, your opponent can change what they are doing, and especially on complex maps, where you have to move it around alot to fully grasp connections you might have to pause over and over to keep re-evaluating. So its either twitchy fast (no pausing) or stop and go (pausing a lot). For when your just kicking back and want a more laid back experience slower time would keep the action going, but at a pace slow enough you actually have time to move the board around and evaluate things a little while between starting node captures but without having to pause and go. Just my 2 cents... I realize it might be a lot of work for a small player segment. And perhaps in practice might be a rarely used feature.
Looking forward to the new XP/skill point mechanics

Yep, just posted an update last week in this thread (it got buried a bit). Short story is: almost done, new version is going to have a HUGE list of improvements, and I think the new skill upgrade progression system is going to make a dramatically positive difference in how fun, compelling, and balanced the campaign mode is.
Send me a PM if you're interested in getting an early copy via TestFlight. |
