There have been a few games in the App Store that directly ripped off Samurai assets, and, as it happens, I've been the one who emails Marek to give him a heads up. This game, though, is no rip off. Not only is the art direction very different, the gameplay is not even close. Bushido is, basically, a Samurai themed RPG; the combat is tactical, rather than twitch based. From what I've seen so far, there a rich story, NPCs, and open areas for exploration. Not everything is perfectly polished, but at first brush this is pretty darn impressive. I like the combat quite a bit -- it manages to incorporate a fair amount of complexity without getting overwhelming. For the life of me I can't figure out the monetization scheme; the app description says that there's IAP but it's not obvious at all. I'll try to spend more time with the game today and report back. squarezero Moderator Staff Member Patreon Silver Dec 10, 2008 13,551 1,080 113 Male Chief Strategy Officer Salem, Massachusetts, USA #7 squarezero, Jan 27, 2017 UPDATE Once you hit a particular spot in the story, the IAP store opens up. Nothing too onerous -- starter packs, standard currency, and revive tickets (which let you come back at a checkpoint rather than restart the mission). There seems to be a bug in the store system, though -- I bought a starter pack but never got the goods. I'm sending a message to the devs to see what's up. The first mission ended on a boss fight by the shore, and I have to say it was kind of awesome. And you can even do stealth kills! The amount of polish MF puts into their games vs this... not even close. jsrco Well-Known Member Patreon Silver Oct 15, 2009 2,134 1 38 Coordinator Seattle https://www.Fatthunder.com #9 jsrco, Jan 27, 2017 I think it does.
