The guide I linked in the post just above yours is the most comprehensive manual to the game I've ever found. It is no quick nor easy read, and it will not make the initial threshold less intimidating.

But once you've made your way through section III (Basic Mechanics and Tactics), FFT opens up, and what you then have on your device is one of the most rewarding, deep and varied turn-based strategy games ever made, in a very comprehensive, detailed and refreshingly distinct gaming world, with a powerful and compelling storyline, and 100+ hours of both play and replay value.

In summary: you'll be rewarded with months of unrivaled fun for those 15-25 minutes spent reading

The sheer immensity of the volume of the text might be daunting at first, but then... so is the game itself Making heads or tails of the guide itself might take some reading, but considering how much it helps to enjoy and master the game, it is worth every minute for most of us...

Step carefully, though. Spoilers abound. Jump past the actual walkthrough to avoid.
Good heads up, thanks for the guide!

This game cries out for native iPhone 6 Plus support.

Ugh, I just deleted it again. I don't know exactly what it is, but I just can't grasp the game. I love strategy RPGs, I've played most of the genre on the App Store and if someone were to describe FFT to me, I would be excited to play it. There is just something about the game that prevents me from getting past that first stage of familiarization. I think I've already talked myself into giving it 1 more try, maybe in the summer.

I feel the same way. No doubt it's an amazing game. But it has such a steep learning curve. Learning all of the abilities and combinations, and jobs, and etc... It just feels like work to me. I've owned this game on PS1 and now IOS. I keep telling myself someday.
