Hey Ashton, I totally dig your website and the music is great. I love the 8 bit and original music you do plus some really cool photography as well. I was curious do you work out most of your music in a home studio? Curious is to your working platform OS and software if so.

HI Blades,

Yes I have a home studio. I have a pc with Windows 7, and I primarily use Cubase as a digital audio workstation. I have other programs but that's easiest for my use, but fl studio is really good for some of their plugins. And I have a m audio mobile pre as my input interface

I use NI Massive for most of my synth and 8bit sounds. I have a tutorial on how to get those sounds in massive here

Also for 8 bit Nes vst/plugins sounds you can use these

vst for windows:

Mac AudioUnits PPC Edition:

I have a keyboard controller

which is awesome and I use various soft synths that have orchestral or drum samples etc.

Will probably get a Mac in the future, but not sure.

Hope that helps. Also Ableton is cool too for home studio stuff.

Very cool. I have been getting a studio set up little by little. Currently I am going to start using Cockos Reaper on an iMac for my DAW. I got quite a few pieces of gear but I was really interested in those 8 bit sounds so I really appreciate the reply. Most of my stuff is real world and not as much virtual.

I have been messing alot with the Korg line like the KAOSS and KP3 along with a MicroKorg and my drum machines.
