I feel like an idiot but can someone please tell me what the grossing charts mean. How do they work it out. Everytime I think I have worked it out I am wrong.

This is doing my head in.

It's based on how much money a app makes not how many downloads they get. So if an app did 6000 downloads at 99cent and another larger app did 300 at 20$ the second app would rank higher because it made more money. Also it takes into account money made through in in app purchases this is why a free app can still be in the grossing charts.

    hope this helps.

well, that is what i assumed it meant.

But it doesn't seem to work out that way.
I've noticed we have shot up in grossing from promo codes, which is really weird.
You'd think it would go up in paid, not grossing cos it's no money but it does the opposite. :S

Wow. I thought this exploit was fixed last year. People were changing prices to $459, redeem 50 promo codes, then changing the prices back to 99c and reap the rewards from being on the top 10 overall grossing.
