Pocket Frogs is a game about raising frogs, breeding frogs and trading frogs. In Pocket Frogs, you have a multiple customizable habitats to raise your frogs within. You can order new frog breeds to be shipped to your habitat, or fill them with offspring bred from existing frogs. Keep your frogs healthy, happy and well fed by taking them out to explore the Pocket Frog pond.

Every specimen in Pocket Frogs has 3 genetic traits which are mixed from it’s parent frogs, resulting in many thousand possible emergent species. Compete in challenges to create a specific breed, catalog your favorites for posterity, or even send frogs to your friend's habitats.

Pocket Frogs is currently in development for all iOS platforms, and will include Retina Display support. Expect to have a handful of little frogs this summer!

It does indeed look pretty cool!

I find it odd that the writeup says they were surprised that unlocking the frogs became the goal for people playing Dizzypad; in my experience unlocking the content is the main goal with most iPhone games, there are only a few that have much replay value after everything is unlocked/finished, and with a survival game like Dizzypad, you do eventually get to the point where trying for new high scores is just a painful process.

PocketFrogs could well make 'virtual pets' relevant again :).

Just about finished with Bloomies so this seems like a natural next step. Plus I can trade frogs with the girlfriend, I've been looking for games we can interact with.

Woot! Another NimbleBit game! And it involves the Dizzypad frogs! So this is what Dave has been pumping out froggy graphics for; looks amazing. :D

    My thoughts exactly. :)

Omg this looks cute. For some reason I am really drawn to games like this, kind of like breeding in Pokemon. Needless to say I would like to be able to catch them as well.

I'm hoping there are a whole load of really rare frogs to find/breed as well. It'll make it all the more special when I finally get one and gift it to someone :)

The best part about a game like this is that eventually there can be new frogs added with new offsprings, similar to new generations in Pokemon.

Everyone keeps mentioning Pokemon, perhaps I should pick up a copy and actually play it!

Heh, I think it's because Pocket Frogs could also carry the slogan "Gotta [Breed] em' All".
