Is the game even affordable to play for very long? nightc1 Well-Known Member Oct 19, 2012 4,362 0 0 AL #6 nightc1, Nov 19, 2012 I won't do the IAP's at all (I just can't bring myself to spend real money on virtual currency within a game). I'd imagine within the next month or so it'll go free simply to try and make some more IAP money. The game itself seems a few steps below most other runners due to the character blocking the view too much. ninjackid Well-Known Member May 27, 2010 9,380 2 38 #7 ninjackid, Nov 19, 2012 Damn, sucks for the early adopters. nightc1 Well-Known Member Oct 19, 2012 4,362 0 0 AL #8 nightc1, Nov 19, 2012 Unless they are new to iOS gaming... at this point they should know better. Even folks today that bite at $0.99... will feel cheated like every other IAP heavy runner out there that goes free. Connector Well-Known Member May 6, 2012 15,512 1 0 In the Chatroom http://thechatroom.freeforums.net/ #9 Connector, Nov 19, 2012 I would buy this game cause I love motion games, even bought Zaxxon when I knew that it too would probably go freemium at some point, but comments in the main thread of Veticus seemed so negative. So I think I will hold off for now and wait til xmas time to see what happens. Kind of a weird day, had such high hopes for Pitfall, Totem Runner, and Verticus; a little disappointed since I thought getting all three would be awesome. But in reality, much rather play shadowgun deadzone over any of these. Guess I was expecting too much. Oh, I forgot about Chimpact, haven't gotten around to playing that yet, hopefully it will be good. InifiniteSky New Member Nov 19, 2012 4 0 0 #10 InifiniteSky, Nov 19, 2012 I don't get it, guys. Y InifiniteSky New Member Nov 19, 2012 4 0 0 #11 InifiniteSky, Nov 19, 2012 There has to be a bug somewhere on this touch arcade app, or I'm just a horrible accident of a human being. Anyways, sorry for the interruption. I just wante to say that I honestly don't get these negativity revolving around the game. It wasn't until I start reading these forums that I even noticed the IAPs. They aren't shoved to your face at all and the game never even mention it to you, it's the Punch Quest kinda IAP, and supposedly people was fine with it. It's honestly a fun game, and when it goes free some tweaking will probably be done to make it even harder and then you will be more likely to get the IAP, and the world will probably be sadder for it. TL;DR: it's a pretty good game, and worth a buck Exact-Psience Well-Known Member Jan 12, 2012 22,664 2 38 The Work-At-Home Guy Philippines #12 Exact-Psience, Nov 19, 2012 I still love playing the game. The controls are spot on, but the IAP-push is retarded. I bought the game day one but didnt regret the purchase. Despite me liking the game a lot, I still recommend you cheapout and wait for it to go free... Then use $2 to buy the doublers. Exact-Psience Well-Known Member Jan 12, 2012 22,664 2 38 The Work-At-Home Guy Philippines #13 Exact-Psience, Nov 19, 2012 Funny you state that as fact and i never have that feeling. iOS gaming is cheap as f**k. Im not rich, but i have bought my own games ever since I started receiving school allowance since the NES period, and i know for a fact that iOS gaming is cheap as f**k. nightc1 Well-Known Member Oct 19, 2012 4,362 0 0 AL #14 nightc1, Nov 19, 2012 Yes it is cheap, but even when buying something cheap its worth it to get something of quality. That's just my view of it. I only have so much time to game no matter what the price is. To me, this game like every other heavily IAP runner should be free. Feel free to disagree, I don't mean for my word to sound like law and that i speak for everyone. metalcasket Moderator Staff Member Patreon Silver Patreon Gold Patreon Bronze May 24, 2010 11,064 1,340 113 Deepest Circle, Hel #15 metalcasket, Nov 20, 2012 Last edited: Nov 20, 2012 Want to hate this. It's so cheesy in every way thinkable, is 200mbs uncompressed and is filled to the brim with IAPs...yet I can't stop playing it. There's something very likeable about this game and I can't put my finger on it. Off-topic (forgive me): Honestly, the way iOS gamers think is mind-boggling. I don't have the slightest idea how anyone can say "if it's not free, I won't get it" when something is one dollar. I don't care if it's the thought that counts, or that the dollars add up in the end, or if the game is made with trying to shove the developers hands in your pocket at the end of the day. In the end, it's a dollar. One dollar. No, I'm not going to go into that whole "price of a coke" argument here. Seriously...whether or not IAPs are pushed here, they're optional. There's no paywall of any sort, and expecting to play something that people have put their blood, sweat and tears (I don't know...whatever...but you can't deny the effort) for free is just ridiculous. Look at what happened with Punch Quest. Did Rocketcat and Madgarden make any money off that? Thank God it's a paid app now. Sure, all running games seem to have a push towards buying IAPs these days, but all running games don't have paywalls and I personally think none of them should be free. Farming games? Crap with obvious "when you get here, you HAVE to fork over some money" games, sure. But not something you can sit and play endlessly or even grind (no mater how tedious) through to upgrade. Christ, with how loved Stan Lee is, you'd think people would pay $10 to just have his likeness and voice (albeit how cheesy they are in this game ) sitting on your phone all the time. Come on guys! Exact-Psience Well-Known Member Jan 12, 2012 22,664 2 38 The Work-At-Home Guy Philippines #16 Exact-Psience, Nov 20, 2012 Im not even sure if you have the game to say the quality is not worth it. Coz the way i see it, and apprently MetalCasket sees it too, this is a high quality game pulled down by a heavy IAP push. Well... Actually the IAP isnt needed AT ALL to play the game. Unfortunately, the rate of the coinage and orb gathering is a bit too slow, even with the doubler IAPs. awp69 Well-Known Member Oct 30, 2009 8,249 0 36 Greenville, SC #17 awp69, Nov 20, 2012 Wanted to make it clear that I certainly am not the type who waits for games to go free if it's something I want. I was just going by the discussion in the thread about what sounded like an abuse of IAPs in this game. There was even a professional review I read of the game that rated it low because of it. I never expect a game to be free. I don't like IAPs but that I've gotten plenty of games with them. I support the devs when it's a great game (like Punch Quest). Just sounded like this was a little over the top with pushing them. That's the only reason I'm shying away from this game even with the price drop. defred34 Well-Known Member Aug 27, 2012 1,408 0 0 Earth #18 defred34, Nov 20, 2012 IAP abuse = no go or wait for free (to try).
