Hi everyone. We are looking to create a new game. One that combines racing with the mic. You blow into the mic to move. It's not a complex game, but more of a simple one. You compete to see how far you can travel within a set amount of time. Of course, there will be obstacles, checkpoints which give you time, and boost! There would also be a "garage" where you unlock new vehicles and each vehicle has different stats (faster, more boost etc). The game will also have OpenFeint for online leaderboards, achievements etc. So who here would be interested in a game like that? We have already started laying out the basics of the gameplay, and we just want to know if there is a market for this kind of stuff. Let us know what you think. Please post below! Thanks!
Not too interested personally since I own an iPod Touch and don't have a mic for it You should probably keep in mind it'll mostly be iPhone owners that buy the game.
Not really because I own an iPod touch and plus what's really the point in having to use a mic to drive? Does It really make a more enjoyable experience?
And plus, if you blow through the mic, you can't see the screen and you say that its gonna have obstacles so I suggest you abandon your "project"
Plus no one can play that in public, or at night when the rest of the house is sleeping.... Stop while you're ahead....
I wouldn't say abandon it... it's just gonna need to be carefully done cause there are some tricky challenges to overcome if it's gonna be fun.

It certainly wasn't much fun. May be my 3yr old would like it but I never showed it to him coz I didn't want his saliva all over my iPhone If you haven't spent much on it then I'd suggest scrapping the project. If you still wanna go ahead with just make sure you keep the costs down. May be make it ad supported coz I don't think you'll find too many people paying for such a game. Atleast try out both the games(zoom and airsail) first and see if what you are doing is significantly better than these two first. arn Administrator Staff Member Patreon Silver Patreon Gold Apr 19, 2008 2,445 69 38 #17 arn, Sep 7, 2009 that's the problem with these gimmicky games. they are rarely actually fun after the initial "this is neat" wears off. arn apppanther Well-Known Member Aug 22, 2009 79 0 0 #18 apppanther, Sep 8, 2009 Yes! We're tired of discriminaton - first with 3GS only games (soon to be remedied) and now with mic games. *Takes a deep breath*. If you did that, you'd need to implement other controls as well (e.g. on-screen buttons). arta Well-Known Member Feb 14, 2009 6,902 1 36 #20 arta, Sep 8, 2009 To be honest that sounds dumb, but at least you're thinking creatively.
