Hey there! First post here so.. yay! We (Tengu Games) have just started a little game company and are working on a new mobile game called Elementalist. You can check out our gameplay teaser here: Elementalist is a mobile game about magic. You are an apprentice in a fantasy world where you gradually learn more and more about the five elements of the universe. Elementalist is a single player turn based rpg where the player determines the power of each spell he casts by drawing the symbol as accurate as possible. The more precise you draw the more powerful the spell becomes. If you manage to draw spells perfectly you unlock the ultimate potential of spells and add an extra effect to your attack. For instance a perfect fire spell adds a burning effect to the opponent. You will also need to deflect the opponents attacks using a little one touch time event to reduce incoming dmg if you can. Features -Drawing spells & deflecting spells -Creating combinations of spells. -75 quests to complete along with a quick battle mode. -deep combat, featuring lots of enemies, elemental based combat and counters. -Using strategy and wit to come up with new builds to defeat new foes. -Unlocking characters, staffs tomes and other equipment We are eager to hear what you guys think of this concept and we will also keep posting updates and images here. Right now we're in pre-beta phase and we'll hope to release soon. And here some more of our artwork:
I'm glad you like our artwork, it's something we are very excited about as well. As we're a three man studio working off our personal savings we don't have the budget to include multiplayer functions at the moment. However we are considering a multiplayer feature after launch.
Hello all! Our artist has been quite busy lately with making new enemies. This time he has made three nasty animals you'll encounter in the forests. When you see one of these three coming you know trouble is coming your way! Stand your ground and prepare for battle! A digusting looking bat: A deadly boar: And a raging minotaur so strong he can snap trees in half: We hope you enjoy our art and our art style. Tell us what you think about it! Hopefully next week we'll have more updates, it might even be music!
As we are approaching our launch date. It's time to reveal more art. Here a sneak peak at our world map and two more additional playable characters!
Guys, that looks very very nice, Can you tell a bit more about the narrative meta-game and storyline. Very curious about this.,.
Hey Muppetpuppet, what a surprise. We were looking at Oberons Court earlier this day after searching for strategy games for a new idea we have for a future project. We really liked the vertex coloured look you're doing. As for the storyline... Picture yourself as an apprentice. An apprentice to a great mage that has been living a secluded life for many years, and who is now ready to pass on his knowledge to a new generation. But there is trouble up ahead. The old mage has been tracking a shift in power for a while now. The forces of evil are making a move he says. So he gives you your first assignment, an easy one for now. This is where you begin, your newly aquired knowledge versus the unpredictability that is out there in the wide world. Your goal? To counteract the dark forces. To restore balance to the elements. If you have any other questions, or if I didn't understand the narrative meta(player's life story) properly, just ask of course. We'll be glad to answer your questions.
No problem man, As for the world map. The player can decide whether he wants to participate in the arena (which only appears after certain battles and disappears after a set number of battles), or to play the current quest. There are no quest branches or something. Depending on the popularity we may add this in a future update.
Nice artwork, caught my interest. Oh, and the fact that you looked at Oberon's Court for future ideas Nearing launchdate? If you don't have anything specific already, mind giving a rough estimate (days, weeks, months)?
Yes if you take too long to draw you won't get a perfect score and thus not the bonus effets bound to the element. There are also spells that distort the symbols or make them fade away in a few seconds meaning you will really have to memorize and train your glyph tracing abilities Yeah Oberon's Court looks very cool and we like the idea of good quality strategy games on touch devices. Elementalist will probably release in January, we will reveal our accurate release date soon enough.
Santa brings you Elementalist Q1 2014. A specific date will follow! He also brings you a brand new release trailer and promotional art! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sMCBEw6TtYM
