why I updated rules. I updated the bottom half to make sure everyone knows that the above steps have to be completed. The goal of this promotion is to get the app reviewed and likes to my Facebook page for future promotions and app releases.
Hmmmm... only the paid version for a contest? Is that legal? A raffle. Is there a raffle liscense?. Spam 10 of my friends?. No thanks. I'll pass...
No lincense I DID NOT realize I needed a license to do this. My apologies. I am going to remove the contest. I will pay out the two people who have sent the email to my promotional email. I am removing this contest until I get the appropriate license to run it. Thank you for letting me know.
It also might depend on your local laws. Be sure to look at them. It's not illegal to hold a contest however. Just give everyone an equal opportunity to enter. (That's where the problem is. When people are 'paying' to enter a contest) In fact, it's a great way to promote your product. Raffles and auctions are iffy. I was quoting from the area I live and I also use to own a company that held contests and raffles for companies. Honestly, when I saw the big prize, I thought you were another one of those money grubbing big wig companies that cared about their product and not the consumer. I now see that you are not and I apologize for being so harsh. But seriously, check your local laws (regarding raffles). I really would like to see you do well. I need to get to bed (around 2:30 am for me) but I'll try to PM you tomorrow with additional promotional ideas and places to go. I promise you I do not have an affiliation with anything. Good night.
R No its okay. Thank youfor bringing that to my attention. I didnt eealize i needed a license. Im just a indie developer trying to get my app known. I am going to check with my local offices and find out what I need to do. Thanks again Lavender
I don't see it being a problem since you have two separate contests maybe make the second one open to the free version not just the paid one and the first one only the paid version so therefor you have two options available. That way there is a free option that's open to everyone. I see a lot of contests on here where devs want you to buy their $.99 app and do a review so I don't get why you are getting problems for this. BTW I like your determination and hope your app gets a lot of notice. It's very fun.
