NOEN Well-Known Member Jul 31, 2012 3,245 0 0 U.S. #4 NOEN, Apr 10, 2016 This is decent. I give the developer props for trying something new with the controls. They work really well. I dig the "dead pirate" theme too. It just seems to be missing something. I'm not sure what. I'm thinking maybe upgrades or new characters or outfits or something? It's still a pretty solid title, it just needs a little more IMO. You might like it as much as I did... As already mentioned above don`t expect too much from the Game since besides it`s Core Gameplay Mechanics (Climing/Jumping/Swinging) you won`t find anything else in the Game that could make you play the Game for longer then a couple of Minutes if you aren`t up for an Highscore Race before you return to something else and pick the Game later up again when you had the time for it. I played the Game for around one hour and as soon as I got used to the Control System I was really trying to always nail it each time to swing my pirate from one of those yellow dot to the next one to make sure that I get the Bonus InGame and not only reach an higher score that way but also to see how fast I could climb up those hills. Each time you will manage to pass to the next Level the Game will take a small break to count all your current points together and add some bonus points depending on how smooth/fast you have climed up the hill and how many Gold Coins you had collected up to that point. Later on in the Game it get`s pretty tricky so don`t expect that you will finish the hole Game in one run and I can imagine that those that are up for a challenge will probably enjoy playing the Game even more then i did so far. Conclusion: Kvaba's Climberia: Pirates is an solid little Game that would be probably even more enjoyable if there would be an Multiplayer Mode where two pirates would climb up the Hill at the same time (Time Attack, Ghost Mode,...) or if we would be able to style our Pirate with different costumes or some kind of Background Story in the Game that would explain to us why we are climbing up those hills at all. Rating: 3/5* *= Considering that the Core Gameplay Mechanics are working as they should but the Game still kinda feels empty at some points I would like to see more Content in the Game and a bit more variety if it comes to the Level Design. Kvabakoma New Member Apr 11, 2016 2 0 0 #6 Kvabakoma, Apr 11, 2016 Developer here Thanks for the feedback guys! It is greatly appreciated! Climberia is truly a skill game with a gameplay focused around it's core mechanics. We'd love to get some feedback on the other features that are unveiled further in the game - the low gravity potions that allow you to fly, the ropes, the moving handles, the breaking handles, the enemies, the octopus, etc. -- We just came back home from exhibiting at the EGX Rezzed where a lot of people had the chance to play the game and give us opinions and ideas. So there are a lot of changes coming in the next couple of weeks! This is our first game and we are learning on the go forsakenxe Well-Known Member Oct 23, 2014 709 0 16 #7 forsakenxe, Apr 14, 2016 So this went from 3 to 2 and then up to 10... Wtf? Edit: in less than 24 hours. Kvabakoma New Member Apr 11, 2016 2 0 0 #8 Kvabakoma, Apr 16, 2016 Developer again We are actually redesigning the game as a freemium following the great feedback we received at the EGX Rezzed. Some people totally loved Climberia and some people totally failed at it. So from now on (once we pass the app review process) Climberia will be free for anyone to download and play it. The game will include a single in app purchase that will enable the check points for 0.99€. So we are basically giving anyone the chance to play the game for free and if you like it - you may unlock all of it for just 1/3 of the original price Yep, and Android release is just around the corner (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
