They only get distributed to review sites. So if you want one, you have to be part of a well-known review site.
Not publicly. They give them to websites for reviews. And probably to the developers for their friends or whatever, idk. They occasionally may have a contest or whatever. But yeah they don't usually give them out, they know you'll buy the game anyway if they don't give out codes.
Yep. They certainly do. Only very very rarely to the public though. Neither Gameloft or EA have given them to the normal folk for a long time
You`d find their promo codes on different gaming blogs for contest etc. I remember entering in one for Gang$tar right when it was released. But yes, it`s very rare to see them giving out codes generally.
Though I do remember one of the bigger companies (ngmoco) handing out promo codes for Rolando to tons of best buy stores so people could get it for free if they bought an itunes gift card. I guess Apple makes exceptions sometimes.

lol I was only making an assumption as I read somewhere in a past thread of how everyone got a code from EA(I don't know how) and there where threads everywhere on TA if they wanted to trade. Which resulted in EA(or whoever gave them away) getting mad and never giving away promos in masses or we could have gotten one for Sim city Note that is what I read from an old thread so that's why I assumed that and said If I remember correctly
you guys are mixing up terms. Every iPhone developer get 50 promo codes for each app or version. Spore and Rolando had something else, not regular promo codes, but free gift cards that were being given out. These are specially created with the help of Apple, and not something available to every developer. arn
