For originality, style, and popularity ... for being a game by a true independent that has stayed in the Top 100 Apps since being introduced in February... and for it's awesome soundtrack )).... Zombieville USA by Mika Mobile. (Full disclosure: I did the music, hence the seemingly unwarranted praise.) But I am being serious. I know the people at Mika Mobile feel that OMG Pirates! is a better game, and it probably is. Perhaps it will be my pick for Game of the Year 2010. But for a real breakthrough indie ame that made it's mark all year, Zombieville is hard to beat.
This is a very good year in quality for the AppStore..The games that really impressed me are Sway,Zen Bound,Real Racing,,Peggle,Rolando 2,Spider:SOBM and more recently OMG!Pirates and Labyrinth 2. If I have to choose one is Rolando 2 because it's a huge step forward the first,it have great graphic , an excellent soundtrack,and the design of most levels is great.

I like Soosiz and now Hoggy quite a bit. Soosiz I can just pick up and play any time - similar to how I felt about Super Mario Brothers on the NES and arcade.
You cant be serious... of all games, you had to pick that one? XD If it was Gameloft stuff you were after, why not pick something good like Dungeon Hunter? As for me, right now i'd have to go with Yipe 5.
I dunno, because he probably thought Dungeon Hunter wasn't good? I would totally agree, it's the worst action RPG I've played on the iDevice.
But all he likes is Gameloft games, so he doesn't have a lot to choose from. And i think it was way better than Modern Combat, at least...It and Real Tennis happen to be my favorites from the Gameloft library.
