didn't make it in one day :) had too much pre Murdaw grinding to do
now i just had my hero die right before Murdaw's Keep thanks to Mudslinger so now
i have decided to press on because my last save was a while back, yikes! that's the issue no way to revive
once you hit the isle unless you have the leaves from the casino but my luck sucked
i have heard right before you fight Murdaw your characters are revived and you start fresh
I hope so but either way I think with my strategy I can win even without my hero, fingers crossed or I will be going all the way back to Ghent with a frown on my face ha

Now that I have spent the time researching all the classes and chose mine I can see that the class system and leveling up etc is almost identical to Part VII which is a good thing... This is gonna be a blast for sure
I have 5 characters for now about to get a 6th
my starting classes: My hero is Yuji (first name of DQ creator) starting him as warrior with gladiator to hero path... carver-martial artist eventually plan on paladin for him... nevan-mage eventually a sage... Milly- merchant with plans of monster master, thief and then on to Ranger... Ashlynn- dancer with path to luminary
that's the plan for now so i will see how it goes especially since i didn't realize i would have more characters but knowing that now opens up more paths and options... just realized I have no priest in my starting lineup ha oh well i will soon... Milly has midheal and nevan has staff of ghent so for now should be okay without it but def plan on some priesting :)

Nice I haven't played VI yet. I'm playing it after I finish V!

This weekend will be mostly gaming and a calm weekend. Plan to play Xenoblade, DQV and Secret of Mana 2 player. Spent yesterday mostly in Xenoblade, getting lost in sidequests.

Having played VI and VII a lot they are very similar in many ways which is a total good
VI is much better than V in my opinion and I loved V

Final Fantasy Awakening aka Final Fantasy Type O Online is supposed to go worldwide by the end of Feb
So since it didn’t come out this week it for sure should go worldwide this coming week!
It’s soft launched currently on android in PH and NZ
only China on iOS right now and I can’t ever get past the sign in screen to play it so looking forward to seeing what it has to offer
Oasis games is publishing it so I’m thinking it will be under them and not Square Enix just have to see next week

Finished Zelda: Oracle of Seasons, plus the extra couple of bosses that show up in the second of those titles that you play. Last two bosses were pretty rough. I'm a little tired of the "let's play tennis with energy balls" type of boss, and two of the last three required spin attacks to damage them, which made dodging sketchy. But I got it done after several tries.

Next up is likely a Vita title since my 3DS backlog is clear. I've got God Wars, Root Letter, and Ys VIII to play. Thoughts appreciated if anyone has played any of those. Or, theoretically, I could work on Ys Origin trophies while I decide. Maybe I'll grind out a couple of those first.

Also, wow. I don't think I've seen anyone say they liked Dragon Quest VI more than V. I found DQ6 to be a little rough around the edges. I often had trouble figuring out where to go given the world map setup and how hyper-specific the transport methods were in that game. I got through DQ4 and 5 without a walkthrough with no trouble at all, but I finally gave up on 6 and kept a walkthrough handy pretty much all the time.

VI can be frustrating sometimes :)
It’s not easy to be honest in some spots and it can be tons of grinding involved due to the class systems but you can earn the dragon and metal slime classes
Falcon I would give V the edge in some things like story
I like the class system in VI
That’s why I’m fond of III, VI and VII

I have! I am 30 hours in now. Just went up in the mountain and arrived down in Gotha (?) I'm a prince apparently and have to go fetch something in the Rite of Passage.

VI is my sisters' favorite too!

I’m playing v today just for a fresh comparison of the two since it’s been a little while since I’ve okayed v
It’s still hard to say as I do like V
I like them all anyways :)
I just got the wagon off to recruit a bad apple and a slime knight

Winter or anyone who may have
Any of you guys ever recruited a metal slime
Right now I would be glad to recruit anything
I’m fighting day and night constantly and I am having zero luck
Earning a lot of gold and my characters are strong but I can’t get a single monster recruited haha

So I started Dragon Quest V today. First time playing it. In the first two hours: I was born, I grew six years, I rescued a guy in a cave, I went ghost hunting with my friend by sneaking out at night, I got a pet saber tooth cat, I possibly met my future self, I made a possibly imaginary friend, found a passage to candy land in my basement, absorbed the knowledge of a book entirely despite being unable to read, and may be on an entirely imaginary quest to save summer. WHAT THE HELL?

This game is trippy. Nothing I’ve played has really prepared me for this game. Nothing.

    It gets even better soon
Have you got the wagon yet once get it you can recruit monsters which is apparently based solely on luck and my luck sucks even at casino too where I can’t win jack ha I’m about to do the save play the casino strategy where if I lose everything I just start back save again and keep doing it until I at least win something ha
The flatulent ferrets are a laugh

I just read that I must be an adult to recruit monsters not just have the wagon? Is this true? If so that explains why I have not caught one
For now I am going to push forward with the story assuming that's true info surely I can always come back to an area later anyways
if nothing else i have a separate copy save file from right after I got the wagon

No metal slime, but a bunch of other monsters. I would guess you haven't opened it up yet since they seem to join fairly regularly.

    Winter,
from what i read you have to be an adult to open it up... that must be true because I haven't landed any yet
I am about to go to the Volcano Cave to get one of the rings (so you know where I am) did you have any monster recruits before this area? I am grinding now I am level 20 now just made that but this area is kicking my butt so I am grinding up before the cave
is this the hardest DQ game? I know I have died a lot ha

I just realized that I apparently didn't talk to Monty so that may be why and not being an adult may have nothing to do with it and I may be an adult anyways I don't know haha about to try again now that I have met Monty
