Baldur's Gate Enhance Edition for iPad

Great news! Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition has just been confirmed for iPad. We can look for it this Summer. Woo hoo!

I wonder if the mobile version will have support for mods as well. There are some BG2 mods that I simply can no longer play without. If I can use then on my iPad, and if I can save my games to the cloud so I can play across platforms, then I'll be getting both versions.

    That's awesome!

Now we need some Fallout ports up in this iPad.

I just got excited. My favourite game of all time coming to iPad.

I'm picking this one up regardless of price, be it £40. Hopefully a successful port will set in motion works on BG2.

    Bring on the summer!

I think this is the new content for Baldur's Gate right here.

I would play it if the only changes they made were many many bugfixes to the first 2 games. And maybe faster animations for certain things like lockpicking and healing. I wouldn't even need new content, it would be worth the purchase for those changes alone.

Do we get to destroy it in game? If so, I'm all over it.

But back to topic -- aside from Baldur's I would love to see something like the NeverWinter Nights games, including custom quests like the read deal. I was going to say the Dungeon Siege series (another fav), but I would imagine that would hit a Win8 tablet before it touches ios. Hmm.then again, Dungeon Siege came out on the PS3 and 360, but those had all the fun sucked out of them to cater to the instant gratification crowd.

This is really exciting news. I really hope it means we get to see more of such rpgs for the iOS. I would love to see Icewind Dale and Planescape Torment enhance remakes. :)

If this port works properly: As soon as it comes out it will be bought, I will fight for the first to press the buy button and if it will cost me my mouse. At any cost. This fond memories make me feel for the first time in ages to REALLY want something (although BG is only the second place of my all time greats - BG II and TOB are together first place.)

I've been hoping that great PC games would eventually receive full and enhanced ports for iPad, especially now with Retina-scale graphics available. This is fantastic, and I hope it portends many more to come, in all genres. :)

Also, re-worked Fallout inventory to be less cumbersome. And maybe allowed direct control over followers?
Heresy, I know, but I really liked to have them around for witty one-liners and stuff and their stupid combat behavior routinely drove me up a tree. And if anything, I have heard that it is even worse in Fallout 1 (I only played the 2).

I have only played the version "dark alliance" on the gamecube:mad:....how do the first play as a rpg?...action,RTS? do you guys think it will be fun enough to control for such a vast game? was it in the 20 hr range like Dark Alliance?

The Dark Alliance series is a spin-off of the original. The original games play much much differently than Dark Alliance-- instead of action RPG, it is more like tactical RPG than anything. You should be able to find videos on Youtube.

This game will be a total insta-buy. Been loving The Bard's Tale, if you haven't bought that yet, you're depriving yourself of something good.
